The children have had a fantastic time at the Nursery Christmas Party!

We have done lots of dancing and have had lots of fun playing party games. The children were so excited to see Santa visit them at their party and receive a present from him.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Some of the children came into nursery proudly wearing a Poppy. This sparked an interest with the children asking lots of question's about why the children where wearing a Poppy. We have discussed with the children why people where a Poppy and showed them a small video about remembrance day. The children painted their own Poppys and made their own Poppys using card and lolly pop sticks. We joined the school children in their remembrance day assembly and held a minutes silence to remember the fallen.

The children have been very excited this week talking to us about the fireworks that they have seen over the weekend. We have used their interests to set up lots of provocations for the children to explore. They enjoyed creating their own firework photos using paint and kitchen roll holders. They also enjoyed making their own edible fireworks using bread sticks, chocolate and sprinkles.

The children had an exciting Monday morning when PC Evans popped in to say "Hello" and let the children hold his handcuffs. We discussed how the police help us in the community and what to do to contact the emergency services.

What a fun packed week we have had in Nursery!!

We have been very busy celebrating the Fierte Festival of Sports Week.
Monday - Sports Games including games with a parachute.
Tuesday - Mini Kickers with Coach Emily from Tamworth FC, Obstacle Course.
Wednesday - Sporting Games including tennis, rounders, cricket, hockey, golf, badminton and Frisbee.
Thursday - Street Dance and Obstacle Course.
Friday - Laser Tag and Archery.

The children have embraced this week, keen to have a go and explore. It has been a fantastic week of team spirit, and it has been great to observe our children grow and develop their confidence and self-esteem to explore new challenges.

The children have really enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow. They have observed first hand the life cycle of a caterpillar, watching them turn into chrysalis’ and then watching them hatch into beautiful butterflies. High levels of fascination has been shown which has sparked lots of language opportunities as well as new vocabulary. The children have enjoyed exploring the Hungry Caterpillar story along with visual aids. Our 5 beautiful butterflies were released this morning and the children were there to wave them good bye.

This week we have had lots of fun celebrating the Kings Coronation. We have been creative making, flags, crowns and bunting. We have been singing the National Anthem with the children and have been reading the story The Kings Pants.
It was lovey to invite the children’s parents and relatives into Nursery to join us for a Coronation Picnic, even though the weather was not great we didn’t let this stop us having a lovely time inside.
