📚 Book recommendations… 📚

With the aim of being short and sweet, here are 2 of our favourite books! (We will share recommendations on a regular basis!)

🌟 A Squash and a Squeeze 🌟
by Julia Donaldson

In my opinion this is one of the most underrated JD books out there! It’s a fantastic and lively rhyming book that is repetitive… so good for developing speech and language skills. My daughter loves to finish off the sentences!

We absolutely love this quirky book. It’s got a great rhythm to it and it’s full of sound words (onomatopoeia). The illustrations are fab too!

🌟 The library! 🌟

Did you see our post the other week with some tips about how to embed a good library routine?

…here we have my sassy daughter enjoying her trip to the library!

She has a little bag to keep her library card in and knows when to get it out.

She has her own princess library book bag to keep the books in and she has a special place to store it in her bedroom! 💼

As we collected the books together before returning them we had a good conversation about the books we read… Elmer was her favourite by far and we discussed her favourite part of the book! 📚

Leaf printing to encourage Crossing the midline!

Did you see our post from the other week all about why physical development is so important for learning? (Check our YouTube video, link in bio!)

After a wet walk 🌧️ we collected some leaves, used a large piece of paper and some paint and I let her explore printing with leaves! This simple activity has many benefits but I particularly liked it as it encourages her to reach across the midline as she reached across the paper, painted and printed! So much wonder and joy throughout!
