🚀 Space Museum Trip
To start our space-themed week, we visited the Space Museum, which all of the children thoroughly enjoyed.
Here at Teddies, we believe trips are an important way to enhance children’s learning, so we aim to go on at least one trip each month.
How did the Space Museum support their learning?
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
The children had the opportunity to visit a new place and interact with new people in a safe and supportive environment.
Communication and Language
The children listened to talks and stories and were asked simple questions to help develop their understanding and recall of knowledge.
Physical Development
The trip involved lots of walking, exploring, and pressing interactive buttons. There was also a soft play area where children could further develop their physical skills and strength.
Understanding the World
The children learned about different occupations, such as astronauts, and explored ideas about space and the solar system.
Expressive Arts and Design
There were opportunities for the children to engage in role play using a variety of resources and props, encouraging imagination and creativity.
Mathematics
There were many opportunities to see numbers in context, such as countdowns to blast-off. Some children were able to recognise and name the numerals they saw.
Overall, it was a very successful and enjoyable day for all! 🌟
