🏛️ Ancient Greece Day in Year 5! 🏛️

Recently, we had an amazing day diving into the world of Ancient Greece! The children explored Greek culture through food tasting — trying tzatziki, pitta bread, olives, figs, and pear. Some brave taste testers and lots of curious faces!

We also learnt about the Olympics, democracy, and the fascinating Greek Gods. A brilliant mix of history, culture, and fun — and a great way to kick off our new topic!

Well done, Year 5 — you're fantastic historians! 🏺🌿

We were delighted to award some of our staff with Long Service Awards before half term. Mrs Coles, Mrs Miller-Jones and Miss Downing have all been with us for an amazing 25 years. We are proud to have such dedicated and loyal staff. We wish them our warmest congratulations and give our heartfelt thanks for all they do here at Polesworth.

Several of our sports leaders were invited to the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, last week to act as marshalls for the English Schools Track and Field Championships 2025. As always, our students were noted as being very professional, well mannered and respectful.

We started myHappyMind back in March and thanks to the effort of staff, pupils and especially Miss McGroarty we have achieved Bronze Accreditation in a short space of time.
myHappyMind is a programme teaching pupils about how their brains work and understanding the characteristics needed for effective learning.
