🍀🌿Meet Melanie 🍀🌿

Melanie is a Master Herbalist and has practiced for 30 years. Melanie will coordinate and teach the Back to Nature Sessions.

'I embraced the teachings of profound herbalists and naturopaths like Dr John Ray Christopher, Dr Bernard Jensen and Dr Richard Schulze, while studying with my teacher, who was herself, a student of the same naturopathic philosophy. We were asked to ‘walk our talk’ and become ‘Living Herbalists’ and Healers. Already a vegetarian, I adjusted my life to live that way too – focussing on ‘preventative measures’ to stay healthy whilst nurturing my burning desire to learn ways to help those who were sick. After my five year apprenticeship, I went on to teach alongside my tutor, as well as run the pharmacy and assist in her clinic. "

We are looking for instructors that need a venue for their next class, seminar or activity.

The location is available to rent hourly, daily or by the morning/afternoon.

We provide a covering, toilets, parking in a unique beautiful setting just across the road from Hatfield Forest.

Confirmed Dates for the Back to Nature events at Hatfield Park Farm this summer:

There will be two sittings each day 12pm - 13:30 & 14:00 - 15.30

The classes will introduce children to the benefits of herbs found locally and their everyday uses for ailments and wellbeing. We will also be encorporating mindfulness, art and most importantly fun into the classes.

Our resident Teacher Master Herbalist of 30 years Melanie Cardwell has mountains of ancient knowledge to pass to the younger generations. Her experience, knowledge and expertise is second to none and we are delighted to be having her at the farm. Melanie runs her very own natural pharmacy as well as Diplomas in herbal medicine, local herb walks and much more.
