Lucy Skaer PART 2

We were delighted to help make the glass elements for Lucy Skaer’s Stacks and Ledgers exhibition at Peter Freeman, Inc. in New York.

The exhibition includes Empty Ledger, a blown-glass work made in 207 parts, continuing Lucy’s exploration of material, memory, value and the idea of the ledger as both record and object.

It is always a privilege to see glass used in such a thoughtful and unexpected way, especially in work that allows the material to hold, reflect and animate light.

We were delighted to help create the hand-blown glass bricks for The Pittenweem Ledger, a major new work by Turner Prize-nominated artist Lucy Skaer. Lucy has had her work displayed internationally.

Working across sculpture, film, drawing and print, Lucy’s work has been shown internationally and is held in major collections including Tate, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Centre Pompidou.

“I find glass such a beautiful material. It bridges sculpture and film, the way it is an object but also captures and animates light.”

Within the gallery, the glass installation resembles the ruled lines and cells of a ledger page. As the natural light changes throughout the day, the work constantly shifts in appearance, at times seeming to float above the floor or emerge through a cloud of mist.

It was a privilege to use our glassmaking skills to help bring Lucy’s vision to life.

💧 Summer is a season shaped by water—the sparkle of the sea, the calm of a still loch, and the gentle rhythm of flowing rivers.💧

Inspired by these moments, Uisge takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for water. Its soft, organic form echoes the shape of a single droplet, while the hand-blown glass captures and reflects light with beautiful clarity.

Every vase is individually hand-blown, making each one unique—just as no two drops of water are ever the same.
