As we come to the end of another fantastic year at Little Apples and head off for our Summer Holidays, we can’t help but look back on all the amazing adventures we've shared together!

What a busy and exciting few months it has been! We had nature all around us earlier this year as we watched baby birds nesting in our garden and carefully nurtured caterpillars into beautiful butterflies. The children loved observing these wonderful life cycles and learning about the world around them.

We took a trip to the seaside! Our little learners enjoyed our beach theme, creating and purchasing ice creams at the Little Apples Shop on the beach, building sandcastles, and splashing about during lots of fun water play.

Our adventures then took us across the world as we explored the jungle and the desert, discovering different animals, habitats, markings, and footprints along the way. We celebrated National Minibeast Week with exciting bug hunts, investigated a variety of insects, and transformed our role play area into a busy garden centre complete with flowers, wheelbarrows, tools and plenty of imagination! We also learned all about bees, how they make honey and why they are so important to our planet.

There was even time to travel back to prehistoric times during our dinosaur theme! The children became mini palaeontologists, discovering and examining fossils before creating their very own salt dough dinosaur fossils to take home.

We were also delighted to welcome a visitor from Hampshire Healthy Families, who shared lots of engaging activities and conversations with the children about healthy eating, oral hygiene, and keeping active.

To round off the term, we enjoyed a wonderful camping and festival theme, filled with fun, laughter, and making special memories with our friends.

We are incredibly proud of each and every child and all they have achieved this year. A huge good luck to all of our children who are transitioning to school in September. We know you will shine brightly in your next adventure! To those returning to us, we can’t wait to welcome you back and hear all about your summer adventures.

The children had a great time meeting all of the gorgeous farm animals that visited us today from Miller's Ark ! They learnt lots of facts about the different animals, got to pet them all and compare how they all felt and they loved hearing the noises they all made too. Lots of fun had by all! 😁 🐐 🐑 🐖 🫏 🐓 🦆

🌍✨ Earth Day! ✨🌍

This week, our Little Apples have been busy celebrating Earth Day and discovering how to take care of our planet 💚

They have explored a hands-on beach clean-up activity, where the children worked together to keep the environment tidy. We’ve had lots of fun, imaginative recycling talk in our shop role play area ♻️ and the children have also enjoyed an earth themed, sensory small world area with different animals from around the world, which also linked to our focus craft this week too. It’s been a week full of meaningful learning and teamwork.

🌞 Sun cream reminder 🌞

With the lovely sunny weather and warm temperatures on the way from tomorrow, we kindly ask all parents to apply sun cream to their children before drop-off each morning please to ensure that they are kept safe from the UV rays whilst they enjoy outdoor play.

Please also remember to provide a named sun hat if you have one.
