On Sunday 22nd January it is Chinese New Year and it's the year of the rabbit! 🐰
Caterpillars have been doing lots of themed activities; exploring lychees (attempting to peel them and taste them!), 'stained glass' rabbits which have been displayed on the window, Chinese lanterns and a rabbit sensory exploration.

A lovely, sensory paint activity in Caterpillars this week. The card and colourful paint was covered in clingfilm and the children used their feet to move the paint around and make marks! The end result has been kept and is going to be used to back on of their boards.

A brilliant construction activity in Butterflies today. The children built their models (wearing hard hats and hi-vis jackets!) using sponge 'bricks', lollipop sticks and crazy foam!

A busy morning at nursery!

🦔Caterpillars have been embracing the Autumnal feel and introduced some themed sensory play and scented playdough. 🍂

On Friday we finally celebrated Miss Polly's 30th birthday (the party had been planned for 2020!) as well as all the other events we've missed over the last couple of years!
We had a brilliant afternoon with a visit from Millers Ark mobile farm, inflatables and soft play, a Miss Polly's bake-off competition, a treasure hunt and several other fun activities!
We were thrilled that so many families attended and we hope everyone enjoyed the afternoon as much as we all did!

🐝 Our new ‘Bee Bots’ finally arrived this week! (We’ve waited over a year for these as they were out of stock!)
The children (and staff!) are just learning how to use them and we have lots of activities planned with them! 🐝

Fun in Butterflies today! Some of the older children had a trip to the local park this morning, they had a brilliant time & were so well behaved!
They have also been exploring ice play today, adding colours & learning about melting.

Great excitement this morning as the ducks have been swimming in Butterflies garden. After their swim they took a trip to Caterpillars and we were so impressed with how gentle the children were.
We think the ducks will be missed when they move on to their new home tomorrow, but they will be going to live locally with a member of staff, which means the ducks will be able to visit regularly!

We have 5 happy little ducklings!
One of the ducklings caused us quite a bit of worry and stress on Wednesday night but he survived and has been named Lucky! 🐣 We are working on names for the others...
The children have all gone out for a walk this morning and the ducklings were so upset (and noisy!!) that they are now in the office!!
