MACHINE OF THE WEEK šš§”šŖš»
Well where do I start with how incredibly proud I am of this oneā¦
I will never forget the shy girl who approached me at a Zumba class asking if I would help her with her nutrition. We did a couple of PTs together and at the time she could barely squat 60kg for one (now a weight she churns reps out with).
To say Emma has blossomed in the 7/8 years I have known her is an understatement.
In so many more ways than just her strength and fitness, she has transformed from the shy girl to the brave strong woman she is today and I feel totally privileged to have witnessed the journey š„°
Emma started as a complete newbie to the gym, with very little experience with correct training and nutrition, she just needed to connect the dots with a plan that ensured her workouts were always fun but kept her progressing.
And we did just that šŖš»
Beautiful and strong inside and out, Emma you truly are a BodSquad Babe š

So pleased that I get to share with you my 12 second transformation which I worked really hard to achieve.
Just kidding.
My transformation took all of 12 seconds and the only hard work involved here was finding the right angle and nearly passing out from holding my breath and sucking in too long š®āšØ
Ok so jokes aside...I just wanted to bring to light how "before and after" photos can quickly become deceptive...all I have done here is find a good light and pulled my tummy in but there are so many other ways you can alter your appearance...filters, editing and that's just on an iPhone š±š±
And those kind of edits are RIFE on the gram.
Donāt get me wrong I love a Paris filter just as much as the next person, but just bear in mind when you are stalking various fitness models/influencers/celebrities that you are comparing yourself to something that is not exactly a 100% true representation of that person.
Some transformations can be misleading and they can make you question your own journey at times⦠donāt let them!
Remember that progress is measured by so much more than just how your body looks now compared to last month.
Progress is getting healthier, happier, physically and mentally stronger.
And that looks different for everybody and every body.

MACHINE OF THE WEEK šššš»āāļø
Meet Magda.
My amazing, super strong client who Iāve had the pleasure of coaching for the last 8 months and knowing for the last 5 years.
Thereās no doubt about it, Magda is a grafter šŖš»
She juggles working full time, studying at uni AND she still finds the time to hone in on her Olympic lifting and gymnastics technique šš»
What I love about Magda is that she will give everything her best and undivided attention and efforts, and as a result weāve see so much improvement not just in the gym but in her confidence too.
We may not get that face to face time but that doesnāt mean she stops making progress, and judging by all the progress sheās made this last year Iām really looking forward to seeing whatās coming her way next š¤©
Magda you are a true machine! š

Letās talk about expectations for a second.
Whether we put them on ourselves or we believe others to have a certain expectation of us, expectations can be both a great motivation tool and a catalyst for feeling inadequate.
I certainly feel this pressure as a coach and role model to my clients and Iām sure they feel the same way from the other perspective, but I think itās important to remember here that the only real expectations and pressures we feel are those that we set ourselves.
Itās great to have a goal and something to work towards, but stop and question yourself whether your expectations are realistic and how are you going to feel if they are not met.
āThe secret of happiness is low expectationsā ~ Barry Schwartz.
Who else puts themselves under pressure and how do you cope when your expectations are not met?

Are you getting in your own way?
Do you self sabotage, hit self destruct the moment you are unable to stick to your super restrictive ways?
Do you deem yourself a failure just because you are unable to follow a plan that is both boring and unsustainable?
āOnā and āoffā your diet more times than the British summer weather likes to change?
Hereās the thingā¦
ITS NOT YOUR FAULT.
Restrictive diets are VERY hard to stick to.
And unless you have a very specific goal or you are a competitive body builder,
The good news here is that dieting doesnāt have to be super restrictive or super difficult to stick to in order to get good results.
What most people donāt account for is the amount of work and time it takes to get to insanely low levels of body fat.
A typical bodybuilder prep is around 12-20 weeks, and athletes tend to already be in pretty good shape.
Itās a way of life and it takes A LOT of sacrifice.
Periods stop,
health is compromised,
and the hardest part is returning to ānormal eatingā afterwards.
Itās not a forever result.
Which is why you canāt be super restrictive forever.
BUT what you can achieve in 12 weeks WITHOUT a huge amount of restriction is:
Healthy, sustainable habits that aid fat loss.
A result that is easier to maintain and promotes your health.
More energy for the gym & for life.
Sure the process could be a little slower on paperā¦but is the restrictive route really the quickest if youāre unable to stick with it and frequently binge?
If youāre ready to wave goodbye to ābeing on a dietā once and for all, DM me the word āDIETā and letās have a chat about how we can make that happen for you.
