Swinton Academy previously known as Swinton Community School was Rotherham’s fastest improving school in 2011. The Ofsted report of November 2011 celebrates this rapid improvement and describes Swinton as a ‘Good school with a Good sixth form’.

Water safety reminders for all students - remember this when the weather gets warmer and you are enjoying the outdoors with your friends.

Today we welcomed South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue into the academy to speak to Year 7 and Year 8 students about water safety. Students listened to the messages they were giving and asked some very mature questions.
Next week SYFR are coming back to speak to Year 9 and Year 10 students. Plus we are having assemblies for Drowning Prevention Week and a water safety competition.

The countdown is on.....Just 2 weeks to go! Today, students received their trip hoodies for the Dolomites trip during their final meeting. If you have not yet handed your child's passport in to Reception, please do so by Friday 12th June. Please look out for further updates before our departure on the 27th June.
