A struggling reader is still a thinking learner.

Difficulty with reading does not mean difficulty with thinking.

Many students with dyslexia are curious, insightful, creative, and capable of understanding complex ideas. When reading is the barrier, it’s easy for others to underestimate what they know—but their ability to think, reason, question, and solve problems is still there.

That’s why access matters. When we provide the right instruction, accommodations, and opportunities to demonstrate learning, we allow students to show what they truly know instead of measuring what reading gets in the way of.

💙 Never mistake a reading challenge for a lack of intelligence. They’re not the same thing.

Dyslexia won’t stop us from doing anything!
Did you know that both and were created by dyslexics?
Both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates created products that are now used by millions of us!
So to all my young dyslexic friends, never forget that even though school may seem like an insurmountable challenge now, it won’t stop you from doing anything!
So, be brave and follow your passion and chase your dreams!

Dyslexia is more than reading and spelling.

The Delphi Definition highlights the wider cognitive processes that can impact learning, including:

• phonological processing
• working memory
• processing speed
• orthographic skills

It also reminds us that dyslexia exists on a continuum and can co-occur with other developmental differences such as ADHD, DCD and dyscalculia.

For some learners, high ability and strong reasoning skills can mask underlying difficulties for years.
Understanding the whole profile is essential for accurate identification and meaningful support.
