New College Swindon

How amazing is this! As part of a recycling project, textile students from New College, Swindon created these beautiful broaches from used coffee pods! Students sold the broaches to raise money for our charity. Simply lovely way to be sustainable and to help us raise funds. Thank you New College Swindon

As part of my ongoing work to raise awareness about Dementia here in South Swindon, I recently called on local residents, local businesses, charities, schools and colleges, to take part in “Elf Day” to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Society

I am delighted that following this, Heath and Social Care Students at New College Swindon organised and held their own "Elf and Social Care Day" on Thursday and raised £222. A massive well done and thank you to all involved!
The Outreach team had a fantastic session at New College Swindon doing our biweekly enrichment session at The North Star campus. Today we completed out coping skills Christmas activity and talked opening about mental well-being and what’s on offer in terms of support in Swindon. (Saxone) Outreach

It was great to be back at New College Swindon as part of 2022
Some great pictures from Fridays training session, massive thank you to Dan at New College Swindon for taking these 🙏 🏀
I was delighted to help cut the ribbon and open our new state-of-the-art £21 million Government funded Swindon and Wiltshire Institute of Technology at New College Swindon North Star Complex today.

Alongside North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, I campaigned hard for a new Institute of Technology to be built here in the town, and I was delighted when Swindon was awarded funding to build one of the first twelve Institutes of Technology in the country.

The new Institute of Technology will help more people here in Swindon into higher wage and higher skilled jobs, and this state-of-the-art training facility will deliver higher level technical education and training across a range of STEM occupations and industries.

When it comes to the future of our town, I will continue to ensure that we receive our fair share of Government funding.
Wow! Thanks so much to all those that came to our first session back. Amazing turnout 🏀

Massive thanks to Wes and the senior players for running the session. Also, big shout out to our volunteers.

Thanks to New College Swindon for accommodating us, it’s a great new home for our family ❤️

We offer a choice of 170+ academic and vocational courses, including A Levels, BTECs, T Levels & Apprenticeships across two campuses

Last week students held an "Elf and Social Care Day" event to raise money for charity. Activities included a cake and sweet sale, and guess the sweets in a jar competition. The students managed to raise a fantastic £222, which will be sent to the Alzheimer's Society!

New College Bricklaying apprentice Joe Gleed, recently competed in the national finals of the WorldSkills competition. Although he didn’t secure a medal, he found the whole experience great. “It was good to have won the South West competition and be the best bricklaying apprentice in the region, and great to compete nationally. My tutor, Steve, works really well with us all to make us better bricklayers. There are really good facilities, and I’ve had the opportunity to work in a less pressured environment to improve my skills. This means a huge deal for me in potentially building up a future business and has really boosted my confidence.” Well done Joe! Full story:
