We had a trip to our local care home today to deliver the generous donations of yummy Christmas treats for them all to share. The children in the nursery have also been doing Christmas craft and making tree decorations to send to them to fill them with Christmas cheer

We had an exciting visitor today at nursery. We had a lady from The Big Brush Club. They all had an opportunity to brush the big teeth and dress up in an dentist jacket. We also sang a song about tooth brushing to the tune of the wheels on the bus and talked about the importance of brushing our teeth and when to do this.
Their mission is … we want to support nurseries and schools in areas where children are dealing with dental problems to help tackle this before it becomes a lifetime concern. We believe in teaching children the importance of brushing their teeth from a young age, as this helps to build good habits that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

It’s amazing the lasting impact that the supervised toothbrushing programme can provide to individuals and we’re excited to offer this opportunity across the Southwest.

This week at Walcot the children have been exploring a variety of tuff trays, the children have been really interested in stories so we have created trays to extend their love for stories and included some story props, the children have also been exploring their emotions, different shapes and shape names and their love for dinosaurs in a swamp tray. These trays have extended the children's listening and attention skills and supported their communication and language development as well as their Personal, social and emotional development.
