🌟 What a fabulous first week back at Haydonleigh! 🌟

And it’s safe to say… OPAL Play is a BIG hit! ❤️💛

Children in Years 2–6 can now choose where they want to play – and there really is so much choice! 🏰⚽🧪🧚‍♀️🚌🪵

It has been wonderful to see children exploring different areas, trying new things, playing with siblings and enjoying time with children from different year groups. 🥰

The playground has been full of imagination, creativity, teamwork and, most importantly, happy children!

And we’re only just getting started… there are still a few more exciting play areas to come! 👀✨

We’re really looking forward to wrapping up warm, heading out on autumn walks and kicking through all those crunchy leaves! 🍃🥾

As part of our OPAL play, we would really love to have lots of conkers for the children to explore and play with. 🌰

If you’re out and about and collect any conkers, please bring them into school and give them to your child’s teacher. We’d be very grateful!

Over the summer, we’ve been busy developing our outdoor play areas as we begin our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) journey.

OPAL will be a key focus of our TD Day staff training, helping us make playtimes even more creative, active and full of choice.

From den building, scooters and ball games to loose parts, construction, fairy gardens, potion making, games and quiet spaces – there is something for all the children to play with 🛴🧱🧚‍♀️⚽

A huge THANK YOU to our parents for all your fantastic donations and to our wonderful PTA for their generous funding. So much of this has been possible because of your support. ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Haydonleigh – there’s lots to look forward to! 🌳✨

Getting ready to come back to school!

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back! 😊

A few small changes now can help children feel ready for that first morning:

🌙 Start moving bedtimes and wake-up times earlier
📱 Aim for an hour without screens before bed
👕 Get uniform, shoes and bags ready
🥣 Get back into a breakfast and morning routine
💬 Talk positively about seeing friends, teachers and all the things they enjoy at school

🎒 Nearly time for Back to School! ❤️🐈‍⬛

With September just around the corner, now is a good time to dig out the school uniform, check what still fits and get everything ready for that first morning back!

A little reminder that you do not need to buy everything with the school logo. Branded Haydonleigh uniform is available from our uniform provider, but non-logo uniform from supermarkets and other retailers is absolutely fine too. ❤️

Our uniform colours are what matter — red for Foundation to Year 5, black for Year 6, with white shirts/polo shirts and black or grey trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafores. 👕👖

And don't forget those sensible black school shoes or plain all-black trainers. 👟

Please remember to label everything with your child's name — you'd be amazed how many identical red jumpers can find their way into Lost Property! 😄

♻️ Keep an eye out for our PTA second-hand uniform sales too — a great way to reuse good-quality uniform and save a few pounds.

✨We’ve had a productive day today, transforming one of our outdoor spaces into a brand-new play area! 🚜👷‍♀️

This is just one of the exciting changes we have underway. We can’t wait for the children to explore, play and enjoy their new space! 💛

We’re back in school making a few improvements ready for September… and today’s job is shovelling TWO TONNES of gravel! 💪😅

Mrs Mace is doing a fantastic job, but could really do with a few extra pairs of strong hands!
