All about me!
Explorers:
We have been having lots of hugs and cuddles as all the children have been settling in on the first week back. We have been having fun with outdoor play. Sticking magnetic tiles on the fence and exploring the garden. As this terms theme is All about me we also did some hand printing.
Discoverer's:
We started this week drawing self portraits, testing our balance and looking after our babies. We drew around our friends then decorated talking about body parts. We found pictures of ourselves that had been covered by sand on a mirror! We then used scissors to cut some Spagetti hair! We celebrated Charlottes birthday and we had a very special visit from Chloe G and baby F!
Investigators:
We have loved coming back to see our friends! With our new topic being 'All about me' we have made a really lovely scrapbook which we decorated with our favourite colours and told our key worker our favourite things! We have drawn around our bodies and decorated them! We have even been making faces using loose parts in the playdough and looking for our names in flour then using our fingers to make some letters in the flour!

Caterpillars had lots of fun with our rainforest themed activities like our blue and green messy play with cornstarch and yogurt with animals. We also had great fun with water play tuff tray with materials like leaves and scarfs and soil and pine cones. For snack we chopped up shapes that make a rainforest tree and also made sensory rain tubes with rice with the ladybirds
Ladybirds had great fun exploring different texture tuff trays and getting messy with shaving foam, paint and water play out in the garden. We have read many stories this week too, with our favourites being from our ‘tiny monster’ collection.
Dragonflies and Butterflies had great fun with chocolate moon sand. They have had fun with more obstacle courses and garden games. Children used their imagination to create their own pictures using fuzzy felt. We enjoyed animal sound game and even had fun with face paints.

W/C 10/8/26 - FARM ANIMALS
Caterpillars had lots of fun with our animal tuff tray using water and orange powder paint and farm animals to do splashing. We enjoyed getting messy in our mud tuff tray with coco powder and cornstarch. We enjoyed making play dough for our animals to make foot prints in and also had a farm animals sensory bin with Rice Krispies and cornflakes. Also enjoyed lots of outdoor play and exercise!
Ladybirds we have been outside in the garden enjoying the sunshine and getting messy with water play. We also had a great time using bubble wrap as shoes and walking across our paper like we were elephants!
Dragonflies and Butterflies have had so much fun with a farm tuff tray, using straw, cornflakes and chocolate messy coco powder for mud, and got the animals messy. We also had chocolate playdoh that we pretended to be mud. We made elephants using milk cartons and craft materials and made a lion using paper plates and craft too. We also had so much fun with many different obstacles courses and games.
We also celebrated Josh's birthday and the children helped him unwrap his gifts.

w/c 3/8/26 - ZOO ANIMALS
Caterpillars had so much fun exploring using our whole body, with the zoo animals in custard sensory/ messy play. We also made paper plate lions using tissue paper and card. We had great fun exploring with other sensory activities such as zoo cereal play with animals.

Ladybirds decorated a big giraffe with tissue paper. We had lots of fun using balloons on string, dipping it into paint then onto the paper. We enjoyed playing in the garden and dancing to our favourite songs.
Dragonflies and Butterflies had fun with moon sand, building dens, obstacle courses. We made paper plate animals using different craft and paints. We explored with mud and bugs in the tuff tray. We built our own zoo by cutting zoo pictures and animals out to make a picture. We explored with water and even built different animal habitats using Lego and magnetic tiles.

PRE-SCHOOL OUTING 16th July
The Butterfly children enjoyed an outing on a coach to Swindon and Cricklade Railway. We had lots of fun, riding the train, visiting the sheds and the museum. We had a picnic and played with some garden toys too. It was a truly lovely day 🥰

w/c 27/7/26 - FARM WEEK!
Caterpillars had great fun using the animals and paint to make animal print on paper. We then explored the farm animal tuff tray using straw, mud and water. We enjoyed trying lots of rainbow coloured yummy fruit for snack and enjoyed ball play in the garden.

Ladybirds enjoyed and explored a farm tuff tray. Continued to use the sand tray and made some patterns with our magnetic tiles outside. We then gave the animals a spa day with orange and cucumber water with lots of bubbles! We celebrated our friends birthday this week, we made a delicious cake and sang happy birthday! Ladybirds also learnt how to milk a cardboard cow!

Butterflies and dragonflies took park in sheep craft, water play with farm animals and yoga.

w/c 20/7/26 BEACH WEEK
Caterpillars had lots of fun exploring with the sand and water play in the garden. We enjoyed making our very own ice by using cream, sprinkles and ice cream cones it was so yummy in our tummies.
We used sand to make our own sandy feet pints on the paper it was so cool. We also used sea animals in Rice Krispies and coloured rice to make it beachside sensory play.
Ladybirds had a week full of sand and water play. We made tinfoil boats and used straws to blow them through the water. We’ve added lots of loose parts to our sand and visited our garden “beach”. Painted a mermaid tail and made our own ice cream pictures using puffy paint!

Dragonflies and Butterflies had lots of fun in the garden this week, playing hopscotch, dominoes. We made beach craft pictures using different craft materials. We played with water filling up containers and watering cans, and pouring water down pipes. We engaged in rice play in tuff tray. We had lots of fun in the mud pit, making some delicious recipes with mud, water and leaves.
The children also helped Sarah to celebrate her birthday this week.
