The Play Den Nursery LTD

w/c 20/7/26 BEACH WEEK
Caterpillars had lots of fun exploring with the sand and water play in the garden. We enjoyed making our very own ice by using cream, sprinkles and ice cream cones it was so yummy in our tummies.
We used sand to make our own sandy feet pints on the paper it was so cool. We also used sea animals in Rice Krispies and coloured rice to make it beachside sensory play.
Ladybirds had a week full of sand and water play. We made tinfoil boats and used straws to blow them through the water. We’ve added lots of loose parts to our sand and visited our garden “beach”. Painted a mermaid tail and made our own ice cream pictures using puffy paint!

Dragonflies and Butterflies had lots of fun in the garden this week, playing hopscotch, dominoes. We made beach craft pictures using different craft materials. We played with water filling up containers and watering cans, and pouring water down pipes. We engaged in rice play in tuff tray. We had lots of fun in the mud pit, making some delicious recipes with mud, water and leaves.
The children also helped Sarah to celebrate her birthday this week.

Fun end of year treat to bowling and a meal out. Thank you all for your hard work and commitment this year 💕💕💕

w/c 13/7/26 - TRAIN WEEK
Caterpillars had an amazing time in the garden doing different messy/ sensory activities where we explored with cereal play with trains and train tracks , shaving foam with trains, sponge painting making trains. We also had fun exploring in the sand tuff tray with diggers and spades.

Ladybirds spent the week designing our own train tickets and making train pictures. We explored different types of train and listened to the noises they make. Later on in the week, we used our train tickets to board a train to the “beach” in the garden, waiting for us was sand and water play, beach towels and suncream !

Butterflies and Dragonflies made a train track in the tuff tray with moon sand and animals. We also raced trains down the drain pipe and tyres.
Butterflies had an outing to Swindon and Cricklade Railway! We went on a coach and then we went on a train. We visited the museum, went in the engine room, changed signal points on the track, had a picnic outside for lunch, then had another ride on the train before coming back to nursery on the coach. W/C 6/7/26 - CAMPING WEEK
Caterpillars had lots of fun doing different activities such as having the pop up tent out with the pretend fire outside the tent with our teddies, books, musical instruments and toy food to make it feel like we had actually gone camping.
We used sticks from the garden to create a bonfire painting using red, yellow and orange paint.
We loved making bear face toast using bananas, blueberries and marmite for snack time. We also had so much fun exploring with the sensory/ messy fire play using red, orange and yellow spaghetti and shaving foam.

Ladybirds made dens, a fire pit, s’mores and glittery campfire pictures. We made our own playdoh and used it to create bats, trees and bears. We took a little trip to preschools garden to collect sticks to build our own mini campfires. We also did an “eggsperiment” to see if we could fry an egg in the hot weather - not quite hot enough to cook though!

Butterflies and Dragonflies had lots of fun with camping topic. We have made our tents in the gardens, we been building our campfires using different materials from in the garden and in our discovery area. We also used sticks and leaves to paint to create campfire pictures. They also have had fun creating pictures with stencils. The butterflies have been looking at the school boards identifying what school they are going to, what uniform is their schools. and reading lots of going to school books. We have had with moon sand, water play, playdough, the children also made yummy fruit kebabs with lots of different types of fruit and also made some fruit biscuits.

W/C 29/6/26
Caterpillars: This week it was sports week where we had some lovely time in the garden doing different sports activities such as egg and spoon race, balancing on the balance beam, bat and ball games, jumping and baby obstacle courses. We also had fun splashing in the water and shaving foam play with paper airplanes.

Ladybirds: We did car races, sack races, bats and balls! We made a delicious blueberry and banana smoothie to help with our energy. We also had a very special visit from Chloe G and baby Fae!

Dragonflies and Butterflies have had fun with rice play, playdough and water. The children have been doing lots of different sport activities including tennis, sack races, running races, egg and spoon races. Pre school also enjoyed their sport races at meadowcroft field.

W/C 22/6/26
Caterpillars had lots fun in the paddling pool as it was very, very hot! We had a lovely relaxing spa day, cold water / bubble splash play to keep us cool from the heatwave. At the beginning of the week we helped make some yummy birthday cake for our peer.
Ladybirds had a paddling pool indoors! Lots of water and sensory play! We even had our own mini spa day, with foot massages and cucumber eye patches under the air con unit!
Dragonflies and Butterflies kept cool by lots of water play, and a water fights. We had fun making a football pitch using magnetic tiles and cotton balls in the tuff tray. We enjoyed decorating our own paper planes and racing them in the garden. We have been enjoying a sound game, listening to cd and guessing what animal it is.

w/c 15th June - SPECIAL MEN WEEK
All children were invited to make a Father's day card to celebrate their special daddy's.
Caterpillars celebrated two of our peers birthdays by making them a yummy cake. We also celebrated King Charles Birthday by decorating our own crowns, making a big birthday card for the king and having a yummy lunch party with our other peers across the nursery. We had so much fun playing with bat and ball in the garden with our peers.

Ladybirds had a messy shaving foam tuff tray. We made some playdoh. We did some crafts for the special men in our lives. Practiced our sports day and celebrated the kings birthday with our preschool friends! We also made fruit kebabs for snack and added water play to the garden

Butterflies and Dragonflies we have had great fun celebrating King Charles’ Birthday with a huge dance party and lunch with all our other Play Den friends. We have been doing lots of sports activities like bats and balls, egg and spoon races and lots of running games, we are so speedy! We have also spent a lot of time in the garden this week enjoying the sun.
