There are moments as coaches that make you stop and realise just how far someone has come, and this weekend was one of those moments.
Over 13 years ago, Jolene Dunan Hale first walked through our doors after watching her children train. Like so many parents, she sat on the sidelines at first... until one day she decided to have a go herself and joined our Ladies Only Kickboxing classes.
She worked hard, grew in confidence and, before long, started helping out with our children's classes. As her knowledge and experience developed, she began teaching our Ladies Only sessions and became an incredible coach and role model.
After many conversations about coaching and the future, we suggested that Jolene open her own club in Wroughton. She was nervous, full of self-doubt and unsure whether she could do it... but she took the leap.
Like every new club, it started slowly. There were days when progress felt hard, but Jolene kept turning up. She stayed consistent, worked incredibly hard and never gave up. Little by little, her club grew into the fantastic martial arts family it is today.
This weekend we were chatting about how proud we were that she'd produced her first black belts... then we stopped and realised that wasn't actually true!
Jolene has now developed over 10 black belts through her club, with a couple of students already on their Second Dan. When you stop and think about that, it's an incredible achievement.
To go from being a mum supporting her children's hobby, to becoming a coach, opening your own successful club and developing the next generation of black belts... that's something truly special.
Jolene, we couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved. Your dedication, perseverance and passion have changed so many lives, and your students are a credit to you.

Huge congratulations to William Adams for successfully passing his Junior Leader Academy award! Your dedication and resilience truly shine, especially considering the challenges you faced with scheduling.

Despite having to adjust sessions last minute, your great communication skills and positive attitude made all the difference. You tackled every obstacle with a smile on your face, and it’s inspiring to see your hard work pay off!

A big shoutout to your mum for all her support along the way. We’re all so proud of you, William! Keep reaching for the stars!
