🍗 MASTERCHEF VIBES IN THE FOOD ROOM! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

A massive shoutout to our incredible Year 10s who absolutely crushed their practical session this week! They’ve been working on a major culinary milestone of Portioning a whole chicken.

In the culinary world, portioning a bird is considered to be a high-level technical skill which requires precision & anatomy knowledge, knife skills and Waste Reduction.

Mastering this now is a massive step forward for their GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition practical exams next year. We are so proud of the focus, maturity, and hygiene standards displayed by everyone in the room. Keep this energy up, and next year's practical exam is going to be a breeze!

The Duke of Edinburgh Silver award expedition took place last weekend in and around Northleach in Gloucestershire. We are so incredibly proud and have the greatest respect for our 22 Year 10 students who showed resilience, determination, they stretched and challenged themselves for 3 days in difficult weather, completing 60km. Our pride in them is beyond words.

Congratulations each and every one of them. Thank you also to all the staff who gave up their weekend to help make it happen.

At the end of term 5 our Year 7 & 8 students celebrated their outstanding achievements at our Hot Choc Social ☕

151 students achieved a place in the randomiser draw to be in with a chance of receiving one of the 'Going for Gold' tickets. 💫

Well done to everyone for showing such fantastic pride and ambition - your hard work hasn't gone unnoticed. 🦁

Mrs Gordon continues to be a great champion of Kingsdown and it was great to discuss the next phase of education for her current Year 6 students as they step up to become Kingsdown lions.
