Inventor Club is back!
https://inventorclub.co.uk/club/
That's right, by popular demand starting this January Inventor Club will be back up and running at UTC Swindon. If your child is a keen engineer, a STEM enthusiast or just loves to tinker and make stuff then this is the club for you.
All sessions are designed and run by either Aaron (Experienced DT teacher) and Ben (Principle engineer and inventor). Guaranteeing not only a fun and engaging session, but one which is also educational. Most of our previous attendees have gone on to continue their education in engineering subjects, placements and work experience.
All sessions follow the school term schedule in 6 week blocks. Each term has its own theme where we will be discussing and solving problems based on that theme. For instance, January's theme is all about AIR.
Each term, you will receive a box of βbitsβ worth Β£30, which contains all the most advanced and crucial engineering equipment known to man (mostly cardboard! But have you seen what we can do with cardboard!). It will also include any electrical equipment, gears, cogs and laser cut items that the project could need. All tools and safety equipment is provided, you just need to bring yourself and your child.
We actively encourage parents to stick around and join in, these challenges are engaging for all ages. We actually find most students thrive when they have that 1-1 support from their parents as well. If you're not able to stay, that is also absolutely fine as well, we just ask that you come back and collect them! (it gets really cold in the workshop overnight).
