We have more details on the funeral of Mrs Sally Inskip from her family:

Good evening all, just to let everyone know that Sally’s Funeral Mass is scheduled to be held at 10am on Friday 29th July 2022 at Holy Rood Catholic Church, 2 Groundwell Rd, Swindon, SN1 2 LU.

She will then be interred directly after the funeral mass at a short private ceremony at St Andrews Church, Wanborough.

A wake will be held after the funeral mass at the Cross Keys Public House, Burycroft, Wanborough from about 1130 onwards, where all are most welcome to come and join together to remember her and celebrate her life.

As we sneak closer to the end of the school year we wanted to thank the parents, carers and families of the children at Holy Cross for their support over the past year. We very much appreciated it and school is the fantastic place it is, because of the strong partnerships we have formed.

On this my last day at Holy Cross, I also wanted to say a personal thank you to all those children and families who have come through the door over the past 18 years. It has been an honour to get to know you and your children. Below is a little poem that I wrote and shared with the children in our last celebration assembly of the year.

I thank you and wish you a blessed and holy summer holiday.

School will be open for all children on Tuesday. Please make sure your child has a water bottle and hat and they may wear their PE kit as they did today.

All children must be collected at 1.15 and there is no after school care.

When you’re in the park over the summer with your water bottle, hat and healthy snacks why not try a scavenger hunt.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Sally Inskip. She was headteacher of our school for many years when we were called Holy Rood Juniors. Many of you will have older children who she taught or perhap were taught by her yourself. She gave many years of dedicated service to the school and its community. We keep her, Bob, Jamie and the rest of the family in our prayers at this difficult time.
Rest in peace Mrs Inskip.

Please make sure your child has a water bottle with COLD water and a sun hat in school every day this week.

It is expected to be very warm during the coming week. Please make sure your child has a water bottle and sun hat in school and apply sun cream before they come to school.
If the temperature is high at lunchtime the children will have playtime inside to protect them from the heat.
