Whenever you can, share books with your children...

It's so important to remember this....

Our new flower shop has been thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children.

We have had discussions about the different types of flowers, exploring the difference between wet and dry soil, as well as creating our very own bouquets and plants.

We were very fortunate to recieve a grant from Nationwide UK to pay towards the costs of replacing the previous composite bonded fence which surrounded our playground.

We had enough funding from the grant to also seperate the hill area of our grassed garden so that we can uterlise the space better. It will eventually be a wildflower area to help our birds, bees and butterflies.

A special thank you to RDB Property Services and SB Property Services for the incredible work you have done on the fences in our garden. We highly recommend these talented local tradesmen, Rob and Steve.

During half term, we were also really lucky to have some colleagues from Nationwide join us at playgroup to volunteer their time and help repaint the children's toilets and to move the new play bark to our digging area ready for the children to enjoy.

Excellent service, reasonable price and the fences look incredible. Completed to a really high standard.

Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit CROFT PLAYGROUP, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

Croft Playgroup will be participating in a sponsored read event from Monday 3rd March until Monday 17th March. We are keen to get as many children as possible to engage in sharing stories with their families. The benefits of shared reading are proven to enhance children's early literacy skills, building and supporting relationships and sharing valuable time together.

We are raising funds to further enhance our provision for the children and all money raised will go back into funding for the new equipment. We are looking to replace some of our garden equipment which has weathered over time and will be encouraging the children to help choose what they would like to have in our outside areas.

As a not-for-profit charity run playgroup, please help us by making a small donation to our cause.

Next week we will send home some sponsorship forms for you to use, should you wish to do so. Alternatively, please share our go fund me link with family and friends.

I've been very fortunate over the years to be gifted various items for the kids to use from giant maps, giant paper rolls, cinema vinyls, to name but a few, and now a crazy amount of paint😍! If you or your business have ANY type of paper/arts/crafts or similar that you no longer have use for/often gets scrapped/ is sitting in a corner collecting dust, please do drop me a message and a photo or two - it's not often I've said thanks but no thanks, so would most probably LOVE to take them off your hands! 🖌🎨❤️

Steve Anthony came to visit us at Playgroup this week. We were the first group of children to listen to Steve reading his brand NEW book Chick Pea. It is now a firm favourite with the children alongside, Mr Panda and Rainbowsaurus!

Thanks for coming Steve! We eagerly await the next two books of the series!

Thank you Old Town and Badbury Park Libraries Swindon for another fun filled visit this morning! The children are enjoying reading the books that they chose.

It is not lost on me that the reason my whole being lit up with joy when I saw this infographic was because I know how rare it is for me to SEE a Black baby on an resource highlighting signs of health concerns ❤️

In many ways that’s so, so sad isn’t it?

But a huge salute to Helen Gbinigie and Oghenetega Edokpolor for working with the NHS Race & Health Observatory, An independent body working to tackle ethnic inequalities in health & care to create such a resource 🙏🏽

I believe that EVERY Early Years setting should have this resource displayed / available for educators and parents too.
