***A Message to Parents from our new Principal***

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Principal of Lydiard Park Academy.

For me, this is a particularly special role. I previously worked at LPA from 2018 to 2022, and returning to a school that I care so deeply about is a genuine privilege. I know what a great school this is, and I am hugely enthusiastic about leading it into its next chapter. I am ambitious for our students, our staff and our whole community, and I want every young person to leave LPA knowing that they can achieve more than they may have thought possible.

LPA has firm foundations and an exciting future. Parents can be reassured that we will build on the many strengths already in place. This summer saw another very strong set of GCSE and A Level results, reflecting the hard work of our students and staff. We are not looking to change things for the sake of change; rather, we will focus on doing the things that matter well and consistently. Our commitment to strong relationships, high expectations, kindness and respect through Think of the Other Person will remain at the heart of school life.

Over the summer, there has also been significant work to improve our site and facilities. I have been really impressed by the transformation and would like to thank our site and support teams for the considerable work that has gone into making LPA an even better environment for our students.

At the same time, I will challenge all of us - including parents - to be ambitious for our young people. One of our priorities this year is “thinking hard, every lesson.” We want every student to engage fully in their learning, push themselves beyond their comfort zone and make the most of every opportunity. That requires high expectations from school, but also encouragement and support from home.

There is also a particularly exciting year ahead for our Sixth Form, with the planned move to Lydiard House. This is about much more than a new building: it represents an exciting opportunity to strengthen our Sixth Form further and provide an outstanding environment in which our older students can thrive. I look forward to sharing further updates with you later this year.

I am looking forward to working closely with you. The partnership between school and home is crucial to our success, and I hope that together we can ensure that every child at Lydiard Park Academy is known, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.

We look forward to seeing our Year 7 and 12s tomorrow, Year 8 to 11 on Friday and Year 13 on Monday. I am incredibly excited about the year ahead and about what we can achieve together.

***GCSE Results Celebration***

Yesterday we welcomed our Year 11 pupils back to collect their GCSE results.

We are immensely proud of all they have achieved and the commitment they have shown throughout their studies. It was a pleasure to share in their celebrations and hear about their plans for the future.

We were also pleased to see a strong turnout for Sixth Form enrolment, with many pupils securing their place for the next stage of their education.

We've included a few photographs from the day, capturing some of the excitement and achievement.

Lydiard Park Academy Students Celebrate Remarkable Progress in A Level and Vocational Results August 13 2026

Staff and students from Lydiard Park Academy Sixth Form are today celebrating achieving fantastic A Level and Vocational qualifications.

Students have achieved a 100% pass rate in all academic and vocational qualifications. Furthermore, A level outcomes at A*-A were double national headline targets reflecting the extraordinary progress made by students.

Students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination, and a commitment to personal growth. Their collective progress is a testament to the academy’s ethos of turning potential into performance, supporting every student to exceed expectations.

Among the many successes, 76% of grades at A* - C were awarded across the range of subjects, showcasing individual excellence and academic ambition and 63% of grades awarded in vocational courses were at Distinction* and Distinction, highlighting the strength of our applied learning programmes and the talent of our students.

These outcomes open doors to exciting futures, with students securing places at universities, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities across the country.
