During the week commencing 2nd March, the whole school enjoyed various activities for World Book Week.
They started the week off with bringing in books in exchange for a Holy Family book token, of which they swapped for a book later on in the week. We had so many children bring in books for this, so well done all! There were even books left over which allowed other children take a book of their choice home!
On Tuesday 3rd March we had the Reading Breakfast. We had over 60 parents and children attend to enjoy a bacon roll, a hot drink and a book before school! Thank you to all those who attended! Also on this day, children were allowed to dress up as their favourite book character or come in their pyjamas. We had some fantastic costumes! Children also entered a vegetable competition, where they had to create a character or scene from a book, out of vegetables. The entries that we did have were amazing and well thought of- well done to all who entered! You made it very hard for Mrs Mossop to choose the winners!
Finally, on Thursday 5th March, children were able to enjoy a character themed hot dinner or lunch box.
Reading is a focus for our school, as it is for many this year, since 2026 is the Year of Reading! We will send out further information as activities/events arise and look forward to this.
Thank you!
