This year’s summer fair was a success! Everyone had so much fun - even in a heatwave! Thanks to our FOES for organising!!

We had an exciting guest today. Teamability ambassador, Paralympian Ben Fox, visited Southfield to meet the children, talk to them about his achievements and shared his medals with the children. The children got to hold his medals and ask questions about his career and life. We are also really lucky as Ben has donated a signed shirt to Southfield! Thanks Teamability for arranging this amazing opportunity for the children.

Our mini gardeners have been busy trying to salvage anything they’ve planted recently. The sun has been lovely and hot but our gardens have suffered a little!

We had a fantastic two days at Southfield Junior School this week, delivering workshops to all their incredible children.

Comic relief 2025. The children loved taking part in activities this lunchtime linked to Red Nose Day. They had to find the punch lines to match the jokes hidden around the playground on red noses; had activities with the PAWS teams like parachute games; and enjoyed chalking on the playground. As you can see, the children were also a sea of red today!

With thanks to our year 4s enjoyed a science session with Jonathan's Jungle Roadshow this week. The children had the best time and were confident at holding some of the animals! A special mention to Isla who came second in the science poster competition.

As part of their science topic, rocks, year 3 & 4 made moulds in play dough with shells. The staff filled these moulds with plaster of Paris and the next day (they weren’t patient enough to wait millions of years!) the children became archaeologists and revealed the cast of their ‘fossil’. Aren’t they great?

A great game against a fellow GLT school today. Oakhurst took the win after securing 4 goals versus our one. A fantastic game and excellent sportsmanship displayed by all.
