Swanwick Pre School - Official Our pre-school has been established for over 50 years. We provide high quality care and education for children 2.5 years-school. Our Ofsted report is ‘Good'.

We are based in a converted church in the village of Swanwick, Derbyshire and provide high quality care and education for pre-school children from two and a half to five years old. Our staff are friendly, dedicated and highly qualified. The pre-school is managed by a committee of parents working in partnership with the staff and we follow the Early Years Foundation Curriculum (EYFS). Service offer

ed by Swanwick Pre-School:
* The pre-school is open 38 weeks each year (minimum)
* We are open 5 days each week (Monday – Friday)
* We have two sessions each day: Morning (9.00am – 12.00pm) and Afternoon (12.40pm – 3.40pm)
* We are closed during school holidays
* We provide care and education for young children between the ages of 2 ½ and 5 years
* The fees are £12.90 per session for children under 3 years old & £12.90 per session for a DCC entitlement for children in the term after their 3rd birthday.
* We also accept 2 year funding

Swanwick Pre-School aims to:
* Provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory
school age
* Work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop
* Add to the life and wellbeing of its local community
* Offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity

A huge thank you to Swanwick Parish Council for inviting us to the village Scarecrow and Bake-off Festival. We had a fantastic time!
We are so proud to have been awarded 2nd place for our Gruffalo scarecrow.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and supported us - we raised an amazing £125, which is fantastic.
A special thank you to Miss Maskrey for helping the children create our wonderful Gruffalo scarecrow!

Come along and enjoy the afternoon and visit our stall.

Swanwick Scarecrow and Bake-off Festival 2026
Sunday 19th July 2026 12.30pm to 16.00pm at the Steampacket Public House.
Residents are asked to display their scarecrows from 1st July and then bring it (or a photo if unable to transport) to the Steampacket for judging on Sunday 19th July at 12.00pm.
The Bake-off has 2 categories, the adults are to bake a Victoria Sponge cake and the children’s category is Creative Cakes, these also need to be bought to the competition for judging by 12.00pm.
Join us for a fun afternoon Pinxton Puppets will be doing puppet shows during the afternoon and local Community Groups will be running tombola stalls etc.

What a wonderful morning we’ve had celebrating our older children’s Leavers’ Ceremony! They sang a beautiful selection of songs for their families and were proudly presented with their teddy and certificate.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this special milestone. We are so proud of all our leavers and wish them every success as they begin their next adventure!
