☕🌹🍋❤️ A sweet treat for our Cuppa Club friends ❤️🍋🌹☕

A huge well done to our fantastic young waiter and waitress, who served our Cuppa Club friends with confidence, kindness and plenty of smiles this week. 🌟

Our talented bakers ( and Mrs B ) prepared some delicious mini lemon and rose cakes, which were enjoyed alongside Sally Steadman’s magnificent coffee and walnut cake ☕🍰. The sweet treats were the perfect accompaniment to a morning of friendship, conversation and community.💜

We are so proud of the care, maturity and community spirit our pupils show each week. These special Tuesday mornings are about so much more than coffee and cake - they are about building connections and making memories together. ❤️🖤
Thank you to our wonderful Cuppa Club friends for always giving us such a warm welcome, and a special thank you to Sally for another fabulous bake! ✨

🍎🍐🫐✨ Autumn tastes in Dosbarth Polar Bears ✨🫐🍐🍎

Our Dosbarth Polar Bears enjoyed a delicious taste of autumn as we explored a variety of seasonal fruits, including pears, blackberries and apples. 🍂

The children used their senses to observe, smell and taste the different fruits, discussing their favourites and describing the flavours and textures they experienced. There were lots of opportunities for speaking, listening and sharing opinions too! 🗣️✨
The verdict? They were absolutely delicious! 😋🍎🍐
A wonderful way to celebrate the season while developing healthy eating habits and trying something new.

🌲📝✨ Writing inspired by the woodland ✨📝🌲

This week, our learners stepped into the woodland to experience the world through the eyes of our character, Little Red. 🍃❤️

Armed with our woodland journals, we took time to pause, observe and immerse ourselves in our surroundings, collecting a rich bank of adjectives to describe what we could see, hear and imagine. 🌿👀

As we wandered, we recorded our “notices”, shared our “wonders” and captured our feelings, allowing our ideas to flow freely onto the page. The woodland became our classroom, inspiring thoughtful discussions, creative vocabulary and some wonderful writing. ✨

We love giving children the freedom to explore, reflect and record their ideas, discovering that writing can be a way to express curiosity, imagination and creativity.

📚🏰✨ Building our castle knowledge

✨🏰📚
Our have been busy becoming castle experts! Using a range of non-fiction books, we researched and explored the fascinating world of castles, uncovering new facts and historical information along the way.
We drew upon our prior knowledge, reflected on our memorable visit to Caerphilly Castle, and used our research skills to deepen our understanding of how castles were built, who lived in them and why they were such important features of the past. 🏰✨

It was wonderful to see the children making links between what they already knew and the new information they discovered, helping to extend their historical understanding and curiosity.

🏡❤️✨ Exploring our village , celebrating our community ✨🖤🏡

Our enjoyed a lovely stroll around Penclawdd today, taking time to appreciate the community that we are so proud to be part of. 🌟

As we walked, the children shared stories about the places they visit with their families and reflected on what makes our village feel like home. It was wonderful to hear their memories and see the strong sense of belonging they have to our local area. 💛

We also discussed our recent visit to Caerphilly Castle and noticed that, although Penclawdd doesn't have a castle, there are many similarities between the two communities. Both have a rich history, important landmarks and a strong sense of pride and identity. 🏰✨

A wonderful opportunity to learn more about our local area and celebrate the special place we call home.
