What an evening tonight was! Open Evening 2026 — you did not disappoint!

A huge thank you to the hundreds of people who visited our school this evening — prospective pupils, siblings, parents, carers, grandparents and support buddies! They say it takes a village to raise a child, and tonight we had multiple villages show up for their loved ones! What a wonderful sight it was to see so many families and supporters exploring everything our school has to offer.

We hope you enjoyed the talk from our Headteacher, Mr Owen, followed by a brief introduction from Mrs Parker, before heading off on your whistle-stop tour of many of the departments across our school.

We know that an evening like this can sometimes leave you with more questions! If you’d like to find out more, or you’d prefer a quieter tour without the demonstrations, discussions and crowds, please feel free to contact our reception team on 01792 535400, Monday–Friday, 9.15am–3.15pm.

They can arrange a more personalised tour for you. Tours are available Monday–Friday, 3.30pm–5.00pm, with our very own Mr Owen when he’s available — and if he’s busy, another member of our Senior Leadership Team will be delighted to show you around.

Finally, we would like to say a massive thank you to our wonderful staff for giving up their time and being on hand this evening. Without them, not only would an evening like this not be possible, but neither would the day-to-day running of our school. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do, every single day. ❤️

Thank you once again for making Open Evening 2026 such a fantastic evening. We loved welcoming you all into our school!

We look forward to seeing all Year 11 parents and carers on Tuesday 20th October. It is vital everyone attends as this will be the final opportunity to discuss subject exam entries or find out what you can do to help your child as their exams approach.

Well done to our Year 9 Rugby team! 🏉. The boys travelled to Olchfa yesterday for a tough and competitive game against a very good Olchfa side.

Despite the challenges, our boys showed true resilience and determination, never giving in and continuing to battle right until the end. Their spirited fight was fantastic to see, with the team managing to score three tries against a strong opposition. A great effort from everyone involved — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!♥️🖤

Da iawn pawb!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone who would like to attend tomorrow! 😊

With less than a month to go until applications close for secondary school choices for Year 6 pupils, if you’re unsure where to send your Year 6 child—and you’re close enough to us—why not pop in, take a look around and ask any questions you may have?

We’d love to welcome you, show you around our school and help you make an informed choice for your child’s next step.

📚 OUR SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR HAS BEEN A HUGE SUCCESS! 📚
We’ve been delighted by the fantastic response to our Scholastic Book Fair at Birchgrove. It has been wonderful to see so many pupils excited about choosing, discussing and buying their own books. 💚
Even better, your purchases have already earned the school over £200 in Scholastic Rewards, which we can use to buy even more books for our pupils and school library. 📖✨
🎉 And there’s more good news!
Due to the popularity of the fair, we’re extending it for an additional week, giving pupils another opportunity to browse and choose a new read.
A huge thank you to all our pupils, parents and carers who have supported the fair so far. Every purchase is helping us continue to build a strong reading culture at Birchgrove.
Happy reading! 📚💚

We would like to thank Gowerton School for coming in today and delivering an informative presentation to our Year 11 learners during assembly.

The session provided valuable information and guidance about their post-16 options, helping our learners prepare for the next steps in their education and future pathways.

We really appreciate your time and support in helping our learners make informed decisions about their future. Thank you!
