🍂 Autumn Sensory Play at Little Cherubs 🍁

Our autumn sensory trays have been a great hit with our little ones , it’s given them a wonderful opportunity to explore, discover and learn through hands-on play.

So many benefits and such fun 🤩
• They develop fine motor skills through scooping, pouring and sorting.
• Exploring different textures, colours and natural materials is intriguing
• It helps build language and teaches them new seasonal words.
• A clever way to introduce early maths through counting, sorting and comparing.
• Encourages creativity, independence, concentration and problem-solving.

Learning through play, making memories and discovering the magic of autumn has certainly been a big hit with them all 🙌

Gruffalo Granny has arrived at Little Cherubs. 🐾📚

Our children absolutely LOVE stories and books, but with the arrival of the brand-new Gruffalo Granny story, we’re not quite sure who was more excited, the children or the Aunties. 😂

The children thoroughly enjoyed discovering the new story and, inspired by Gruffalo Granny herself, decided to get creative and make their very own Gruffalo Granny Stew. 🥣

They gathered a delicious selection of ingredients, mixed, stirred and experimented, all while using their wonderful imaginations to become little chefs.🧑‍🍳

It was a fantastic hands-on, messy and imaginative learning experience, giving the children opportunities to explore different textures and ingredients, develop their language and communication, practise coordination and, most importantly, have lots of fun bringing a much-loved story to life! 🗣️

And of course, we couldn’t possibly tell you what went into our Gruffalo Granny Stew. 🤫

ROALD DAHL DAY AT LITTLE CHERUBS 📚

What a wonderfully whizz-banging day we’ve had celebrating Roald Dahl Day.

The children had SO much fun getting stuck into our magical activities, including George’s Marvellous Magic Potions 🧪✨, meeting Mr Fox 🦊 and, of course, the very important challenge of “Can You Find the Golden Ticket?” 🍫

There were smiles, giggles, excitement and plenty of imagination throughout the day as the children brought some of Roald Dahl’s much-loved stories to life. 🌈📖

And as for our wonderful Aunties, well, they may have slightly fewer voices tonight. After reading what felt like a very large number of fabulous Roald Dahl stories, the children were completely captivated.

The stories were read once…

then again…

and again…

and AGAIN…

…and, yes, you guessed it… AGAIN! 😂📚

But hearing the children join in, listen so intently and let their imaginations run wild made every single reading worth it. ❤️

A huge well done to all our wonderful Aunties for creating such a magical day and to our little Cherubs for embracing the fun!

Emergency Services Day at Little Cherubs 🚨

Today we celebrated Emergency Services Day (999 Day) with lots of fun, play and learning! ❤️

We talked about the amazing people who help us in an emergency and explored the important roles of our emergency services.

Activities like these help children to build confidence, understand personal safety and overcome any fears they may have around uniforms, sirens and emergency vehicles. Most importantly, they learn that our emergency service workers are friendly helpers who are there to keep us safe. 🥰

🌊 Rock Pool Adventures with our Tweenies 🦀

Our Tweenies had a fantastic time exploring the fascinating world of rock pools. There was plenty of excitement as they discovered the different creatures and organisms that might call these little pools of water home. 🔎

This hands-on experience provided lots of opportunities to develop Understanding the World, as the children explored nature, observed living things and talked about their habitats. 🌿🌊

It was also a wonderful opportunity to support Communication & Language, introducing new vocabulary and encouraging the children to ask questions, share their ideas and chat about what they could see. 💬✨

From “What’s that?” to “Where does it live?” — our little explorers were full of curiosity! 🐠🦀🐌

Learning through exploration, discovery and lots of fun — just the way we like it at Little Cherubs! 💕🌈

The Baby Room has had a very busy and enjoyable month exploring their topic, Nursery Rhymes🦆🐰🕷️. The children have engaged in a variety of exciting experiences, including open-ended play activities, sensory exploration, books, and songs. These activities have provided wonderful opportunities for the children to develop their communication and language, sensory awareness, physical skills, and confidence while encouraging curiosity and creativity. It has been lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm and engagement as they explored familiar nursery rhymes through play, music, and hands-on experiences. 🌟🤩🌞

Potion making🧪

Our Tweenies had such a lovely day today with Auntie Louise and Auntie Courtney. The children enjoyed a short little stroll to our outdoor play area, where they had great fun creating their very own “flower potions” using natural materials 🌺

This activity gave the children a wonderful opportunity to explore the world around them through hands-on, sensory play. It also supported their early learning in science and maths, while sparking their imagination and creativity 🧠
