Spent a lovely evening learning about diversity and anti-racism, taught by the fantastic DARPL team.
When we know better, we do better.
"Anti-racism is the commitment to fight racism wherever you find it, including in yourself." — Ijeoma Oluo
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." — Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country." — Thurgood Marshall
"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities." — Stephen Covey
"Diversity is about embracing one another's uniqueness." — Jesuit Resource

Key Benefits of Ice Play for Toddlers:
Sensory Development: Ice stimulates all senses—touch (temperature/texture), sight (colored ice), and hearing (sound of melting/clinking).
Fine Motor Skills: Using tools to transfer, scoop, or manipulate ice cubes builds dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and grip strength.
Cognitive & STEM Learning: Children observe the scientific process of melting, explore buoyancy, and solve problems (e.g., how to free a toy frozen in a block).
Language Acquisition: Interacting with ice helps toddlers learn new, descriptive vocabulary such as "cold," "slippery," "frozen," "liquid," and "solid".
Creativity & Calming: It encourages imaginative play (e.g., arctic adventures) and acts as a calming, sensory-seeking activity, especially for children needing to reach an optimal level of stimulation.
Simple Ideas for Ice Play:
Ice Excavation: Freeze small toys in a large container of water.
Colored Ice Painting: Freeze water with food coloring in ice cube trays.
Sensory Bin: Fill a bin with ice cubes, water, and tools like spoons, ladles, or small cups.
Ice Painting: Let the ice melt on paper to create abstract art.

🌼Celebrating St David’s Day 🌼
Happy St David's Day / Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus
We celebrate St. David's Day on March 1st to honor St. David, the patron saint of Wales, commemorating his life as a 6th-century bishop known for spreading Christianity, establishing monasteries, performing miracles, and his simple, virtuous life, embodying Welsh culture and heritage with traditions like wearing daffodils and leeks.
We’ve been listening to some songs too, such as the Welsh national anthem, Hymns & Arias and Yma O Hyd. Proud of our Welsh heritage and culture 🏴🏴🏴
