Our ladies enjoyed a very relaxing, rewarding morning making troughs and hanging baskets with the guidance of Daphne and her grandson Connor.

We are off to the NEC for a full day of shop shopping!!

We are hoping to stock up on all your favourites along with lots of NEWness 🤞🏼

I’m hoping to take lots and lots of photos but we’ve got to a lot to cram into one day 🙈

Meet Daphne Hedges, brought to life at The Longest Yarn 2: Britain at War.

Daphne served in the Women’s Land Army, but her wartime duties included a job that certainly wasn’t for the faint-hearted - rat catching! 🐀
She was rather good at it too, catching a fair few rats during her time as a Land Girl, doing her bit to protect vital food supplies during wartime.

It’s fascinating to discover the many different jobs undertaken by the women of the Women's Land Army, all playing their part in keeping Britain going during the war.

🍏 Good food is getting a second life at Dyfatty Junction.
📆 Every Tuesday, fresh fruit, vegetables and other surplus food arrive through FareShare Cymru.
🍝 Some is turned into tasty meals for local community activities.
🥰 This week, it helped provide a thank-you meal for volunteer litter-pickers.
🥔 Any remaining food is available for anyone to collect from the Free Food Corner.
👋 Since opening in June, Dyfatty Junction has welcomed hundreds of people each week.
☕️ Visitors can access support, advice, workshops and a friendly community café.
🫕 By reducing food waste and helping residents, this partnership is making a real difference.

We’ve done it! Over £700 raised and 300.88 miles cycled in June, it’s pleasure cycling for the rest of the month

Stuart and I are cycling again for this charity to help raise funds for research / treatment. We have several friends who have suffered from this increasingly diagnosed cancer and is therefore a charity close to our hearts. Any donation no matter the size will be welcomed . Thank you
