🍽️👩‍🍳 Making Dinner Together! 👨‍🍳🍽️

Today, our little chefs had a fantastic time preparing their own dinner using real ingredients! The children enjoyed helping to wash, chop, mix, and assemble their meal, learning about healthy foods and where they come from along the way.

Cooking activities provide wonderful opportunities to develop fine motor skills, build confidence, follow instructions, and encourage independence. The children were excited to explore different textures, smells, and tastes while working together to create their delicious dinner.

We are so proud of their enthusiasm and teamwork. The finished meal looked amazing and was enjoyed by all! 🌟🥕🍅🥔

🦖🎨 Dinosaur Painting Fun! 🎨🦖

Our little learners had a fantastic time today using dinosaurs to create some amazing artwork! The children dipped dinosaur figures into paint and explored different colours, patterns, and prints, creating their very own prehistoric masterpieces.

This fun activity encouraged creativity, imagination, and fine motor skill development while introducing the children to cause and effect through mark-making and exploration.

We loved seeing the unique dinosaur tracks and colorful creations that the children produced. What a dino-mite day! 🦕✨

The rain came down and washed the spider out. 💦
But did he give up? No way! 😊
Out came the sunshine ☀️ and dried up all the rain, so Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again! 🕷️

We enjoyed a delicious fruit tasting session and explored where different fruits come from around the world!
We tasted sweet, juicy melon from Costa Rica and tropical pineapple from Brazil, learning about the countries they are grown in and how they travel to reach us.
The children enjoyed using their senses to explore the different colours, textures, smells, and flavours while talking about their favourites.
A fun and tasty way to learn about the world around us!

Little ones light up around water play ..... and it's more than just fun!! It’s a sensory-rich experience that supports healthy development, stimulating senses, encouraging curiosity, exploration and hand-eye coordination.

One of our amazing Shining Stars, Ivy, was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) when she was just 3 years old.

Since then, Ivy has undergone two hospital admissions at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales for fluid aspiration and steroid injections into her knee. She also lives with uveitis — inflammation inside the eye linked to JIA — and is currently on her 8th month of daily steroid eye drops.

Following a recent flare-up, Ivy is now having weekly injections at home to help stop her immune system attacking her joints.

Despite everything she faces, Ivy continues to smile, stay strong, and take it all in her stride. We are all incredibly proud of her 💜

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is not “just growing pains.” It is an autoimmune condition affecting thousands of children and young people across the UK.

To help raise awareness and support children living with JIA, we held a special fundraising and awareness day last. The staff and children wore purple, decorated biscuits, made bracelets, had lots of purple Messy play and staff got gunged by Ivy.
