I will soon have one tutoring space available.
I provide calm, supportive tuition tailored to each child's individual needs, with a strong focus on building confidence as well as skills.
Sessions are especially suited to children who may feel anxious about learning, lack confidence, or simply benefit from gentle encouragement and personalised support.
If you would like to have a friendly chat about how I may be able to help your child, please feel free to message or call me.

Following completion of my degree course I pursued several careers over the years until I finally embedded myself in the wonderful world of education. I began in Early Years, working as a manager and a Special needs Co-Ordinator of a pre-school. I went on to teach in a secondary school in Surrey as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. During this period I was asked to provide private 1 to 1 tutoring

Quick punctuation reminder:
Apostrophes.
Apostrophes show:
1. Possession- the girl's book.
2. Missing letters- don't, can't, shouldn't.
They do NOT make words plural.
This is one of the most common errors.
The #1 writing problem I see in KS3:
Short, underdeveloped paragraphs.
Students often:
● Make a point
● Add a short quote
● Stop
Encouraging them to:
● Zoom in on one word
● Explore connotations
● Explain effects on the
reader
Immediately improves depth.

A student just needs the right support to realise they can. 🥰
Why many KS3 students struggle with analysis:
They are often told to: 'Explain your ideas'. But not how.
A simple structure helps:
Point
Evidence
Explain
Zoom in on a single word
Link back to the question.
Structure removes fear.
Confidence follows structure.

Thank you so much to another valued customer:
Sue is a wonderful English tutor for my son. She is patient, kind, and explains lessons in a way that’s easy for him to understand. Her sessions are well-organized and engaging, and I’ve noticed a clear improvement in his confidence and English skills. I highly recommend her.

Tutoring really allows you to tailor learning to your students! 😍
Grammar tip:
Fronted Adverbials.
A fronted adverbial tells us when, where or how something happens and comes at the start of a sentence.
Example:
Later that evening, a dog began to bark.
Without warning, the door slammed shut.
Remember the comma.
Children who master sentence control become more confident writers.
