Big thank you to Paul Graves-Brown who is helping me with the indexing for this, soon to be released (I am now panicking that there are not enough hours in the day!). Of course also thank you to the authors, including Salima Ikram, Alice Stevenson and also for Reg Clark for his image (the one here is not the final image) https://www.isdistribution.com/BookDetail.aspx?aId=56990
Breaking cobras. Kasia Szpakowska's talk yesterday was very well received with lots of discussion. It was on Kasia's experimental work on clay cobra breaking! No ancient ones were harmed. Clay cobras have been found on various sites in Egypt, the earliest being Amarna. If you missed the talk you can get a taste of Kasia's work by clicking on this site and then onto the the 'Kasia Szpakowska' podcast: http://www.egypt.swan.ac.uk/…/events/397-technology-podcasts
