This week, the toddlers have been very busy exploring the exciting world of safari animals and learning about the different sounds they make. They had lots of fun developing their fine motor skills while creating lion mask pictures using sequins, paper, and other craft materials, enjoying the opportunity to get their hands messy and express their creativity. The children also thoroughly enjoyed a sensory tray activity filled with rice, weetabix , and a variety of tissue papers. Through exploring different textures and materials, they supported their sensory development, curiosity, and understanding of how safari animals live in their natural habitats. It was wonderful to see the children playing together, helping one another, and building their communication, social skills, and confidence through these engaging experiences.😄🐒🐆🦏🙌

This week, the children enjoyed exploring the paint pens and making colourful marks on paper, creating pictures inspired by their favourite animals. This activity supported their sensory exploration, creativity, and early mark-making skills. The Tweenies also had great fun exploring the active room with their friends and taking part in a variety of activities, particularly playing with the animal toys. They showed wonderful enthusiasm as they shared, talked about the animals, and used their imaginations during play. It was lovely to see them engaging with one another, building friendships, and developing their communication and social skills while having fun together.🦍🦓🦒🐘🟣🔴🔵🟢🟡

This morning lakesiders have enjoyed African safari colouring and playdough printing activities inspired by African safari animals.
Through colouring, the children developed their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and colour recognition. 🖍️🐆🦒🦓
The playdough printing activity encouraged sensory exploration, strengthened finger muscles, and helped develop concentration and problem-solving skills. These engaging activities also supported communication, imagination, and learning about different animals found on the African safari. 🦒🦓🐆

Our toddlers have had a fantastic week exploring shapes and robots! Through a variety of fun, hands-on activities, the children have been developing their shape recognition skills while learning through play.
The children enjoyed creating robot pictures using shape cut-outs and sponge printing, using their imaginations to design unique robots. They also explored shape-themed tuff trays, where they matched, sorted, and identified different shapes, helping to build their confidence in recognising circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and more.
It has been wonderful to see the children engaging in conversations about shapes, spotting them in their environment, and using shape names independently throughout their play.
A fun-filled week of creativity, discovery, and learning! 🤖🎨✨

Lakesiders are getting ready for the world cup football 2026 🏆
This morning lakesiders enjoyed colouring in their own football shirts, using their creativity and imagination to design unique patterns and colours 🖍️👕
They also took part in a football activity practising their ball skills and taking turns to shoot at the goal. These activities helped to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, turn-taking, confidence, and teamwork ⚽
Then this afternoon lakesiders ,made football biscuits using black and white icing sugar to decorate them ⚽
This activity encouraged creativity, supported fine motor development through spreading and decorating, and helped develop listening skills, patience, and independence while following instructions.🍪

Yesterday lakesiders enjoyed making their own robot out of shapes 🤖
During this activity, the children used different coloured paper and a variety of shapes to create their own robots.
They developed their creativity and imagination by designing unique robots and making choices about colours and shapes.
The children enhanced their fine motor skills through cutting, picking up, and gluing the shapes onto the paper.
They also developed their shape and colour recognition skills, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving abilities as they selected and arranged the shapes to form different parts of their robots.
The activity encouraged concentration, hand-eye coordination, and communication as the children discussed their ideas and shared their creations with others. 😁

Lakesiders had lots of fun with our pirate activities this week 😃
They made their own boats and coloured in pirate hats.
They also enjoyed making treasure maps and talking about where their treasure was hidden.
In the pirate tuff tray, the children explored coins, sand and blue tissue paper pretending it was the sea, using their imaginations to create pirate stories and adventures.
They especially enjoyed the water tuff tray, where they splashed, poured and explored the water with their friends.
