Continuing with aunder the sea theme from last weeks book 'The Rainbow Fish' which everyone enjoys 😊

We put our fine motor skills to the test, we made some cute jellyfish! πŸͺΌ using paper plates, decorated with crayons, tissue paper and glitter. We then threaded beads onto string and attached these to the plate πŸ‘Œ

We had fun messy play with shaving foam, food colouring and used art paint scrapers to make pretty patterns. In another tough tray we created a beach and sea scene, everyone enjoyed role playing in it.

During circle time we enjoyed stories and then everyone took turns standing up front to sing alittle song 😊

We practiced letter formation & sounds with Bev, played some hoop games, had fun using our new crocodile seasaw & enjoyed outside play.

Our book theme this week was ' The Rainbow Fish' 🌈🐠
A classic story, that everyone loves, with a heart warming message!

We got very crafty using paper plates, foil, sharpie pens & string, we created our own raibow fish! 😊 they shone in the sunlight with lots of different colours!

Another activity helped us with our number recognition & scissor control! We had an ocean picture with spotted fish, we cut out 5 numbered fish, then counted the spots and matched the correct numbered fish.

We fished for numbered fish in the sand tray, burried and hidden we had to find them and say the number. We made fish of all different shapes with the playdough.

The tuff tray was set up with a beautiful beach scene, blue pasta made the ocean, blue and white oats created the waves rolling in on the sand. We added fish, boats, wood, sand and shells.

Our mini sensory trays came out, filled with coloured salt. Everyone took turns using their fingers to write their names, numbers and funny faces! 😊

On the intereactive board, we played some fun games. Fish would swim on screen, we counted them and then had to tap of the correct number. Their faces when the 'Well Done' message popped up was lovely!

It was lovely to get an update on one of the plants taken home, growing lovely and tall, well done 😊 watch what it grows into! 😊

🌟 Holiday club 🌟
Wc 25.5.26 to 29.5.26

We had a lovely week in holiday club! 😊

We spent most of the time outside enjoying the sunshine and freedom to run around, using our imaginations!

Tuff trays were set up and changed regularly with playdough, lego & building blocks.
Everyone enjoyed cooking in the mud kitchen, splashing in the water tray & building in the construction area.

Our pop up tent was a big hit, when a rest was needed it provided a place to chill, cool down and read some books!
We also done a bug hunt, counting & ticking them off a list as we found them.

We had fun games with the parachute, enjoyed picnics and exploring different areas around the school. In the woodland area, games of hide & seek are always fun!

Hope to see you all again in our next holiday club! 😊

πŸ“£ Happy to announce we are now registered to provide Flying start childcare πŸ“£

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

* Funded high quality, part-time (12.5 hours a week) childcare for 2 year olds
* Access to parenting support
* Support for speech, language and communication development

Quality childcare contributes to the acquisition of skills and abilities, socialisation and the ability to play and concentrate. These are crucial, not only to a child’s subsequent ability to learn, but also to participate effectively in groups.

Research suggests that quality early childhood play, learning and care Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care (ECPLC) leads to improvements in children’s development in later years, such as:

enhanced language skills
better educational performance in mathematics and reading
an increase in positive behaviour
Children who attend quality early years settings are:

more independent
concentrate on their play for longer
are more co-operative and better prepared when they start school.
The provision of funded childcare may also enable parents to work or access training and education opportunities that may not have otherwise been possible.

Minibeasts Week
πŸ›πŸ•·πŸœπŸͺ³πŸžπŸ¦ŸπŸ¦‹πŸ¦—πŸπŸͺ²

All about the minibeasts this week! Finding out fun & interesting facts about all kinds of bugs!

We created our own insect fossils! 😁 Using clay and a selection of different bugs (fake ones 🀣) everyone rolled out the clay, chose an insect and then pressed them down into the clay and they we amazed with how they turned out, all the different shapes & patterns! πŸ‘Œ

Eveyone was invited to 'build a bug' using different coloured paper shapes, glue & googly eyes. They created some cute little bugs, bugs of all different shapes & sizes 😊

In the tuff tray, things got very creative & messy πŸ‘ŒπŸ€£ All the creepy crawlies came out, scurrying around in mud and water. Now this is where it got creative, we didnt use mud, we used gravy granules! It worked well, looked good & everyone fancied a cook dinner hahaha!

We gave some ladybirds some spots using the playdough mats and ofcourse squishy playdough. We practiced number recognition and counting on the interactive board, we role played & splashed in the water tray.

We hope you all have a fab half term! For those joining us at holiday club next week, Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th, we looking forward to seeing you 😊

Wc 11.5.26 to Wc 15.5.26

This week we finished off our 'Jack & The Beanstalk' theme!
Our magic seeds were planted in our own made cardboard pots with giants castle! Everyone was excited to finally take them home 😊

We practiced our number recognition & counting skills! We had a picture of 5 beanstalks each with a number. We then had to say the number & use our fingerprint to place the correct number of beans πŸ«˜πŸ‘

In the tuff tray we got to develop our fine motor skills & helpful skills when helping Mum/Dad in the kitchen πŸ‘Œ 🀣
We had cucumber, melon, oranges & peppers placed in the tray along with some plastic childrens knives πŸ‘ Everyone took turns learning how to hold the knife and how to cut the fruit & veg!

In another tuff tray we got alittle messier to further develop those fine motor skills. We placed bowls and spoons, with potatoes and beans, everyone scooping and pouring them into the bowls πŸ‘Œ

We had fun playing some interactive games on the big screen & learnt along the way 😁 Little frogs would appear on the log and a then number would appear, everyone lined up and took turns placing the correct amount of frogs onto the lillypad.
We also played another game, matching pairs!
Pictures of numbers & objects would appear and we had to match them together πŸ‘Œ

We had fun playing outside, freedom to run around & to use their imaginations!
After schoolies enjoyed finishing school and joining us outside in our play area!
When the rain came we went inside and played a game of uno 😊

Hope you all had a great weekend!

This is a polite reminder that children should not be bringing in toys to our setting.
This links in with the schools recent decision.

We know your child may want to bring in a toy from home, however, to prevent things getting lost or broken, it is better for these to stay at home where they are safe and to avoid upset.

Thank you for your continued support.

Contuing theme 'Jack & The Beanstalk'/
'Jack a'r Goeden Ffa' 🫘🌱

Linking in with our theme, a giants footprint. We wondered how big our feet are? Everyones foot was painted and printed onto paper. We then used cuboids to measure how big our footprint was. Majority was 7 cuboids 😁

We continued to finish making our own cardboard plant pots, which can be placed straight into a big pot and it will degrade into the soil. The children filled them with compost and planted our own magical seeds. In time these will be sent home πŸ‘

We also coloured in a Jack & the beanstalk picture and watched he story unfold on the big screen.

Plenty of outside play in our area, with different activities in tuff trays, free play and Afterschool we went up the top field to play football 😊

Hayley brought in a pair of moon shoes, which was a big hit! Everyone taking turns to have a go at seeing what it would be like to walk on the moon 🀣 they loved it!

Hope you had a lovely weekend everyone! Bring on another fun week 😊
