🍋 Sour faces and sweet memories! 🍋

Our Cooking Club children had lots of fun making fresh lemonade this week. Before we got mixing, everyone had a taste of the lemons... and the reactions were priceless! 😆 Safe to say there were plenty of giggles as the children found each other's funny faces hilarious. Who knew something so sour could create so many smiles? 🍋😂

Crwys childsplay this week, the children enjoyed brain flakes and sorted them into colours. We did lots of splashing around too.

After School Club this week we made banana and strawberry oatcakes. Art club we made butterflies, Wednesday played parachute games too. Lots of fun was had.

Rain, wind, puddles, muddy boots and big smiles! 🌧️💨💙

At Childsplay Swansea, we believe that childhood should be filled with opportunities to explore, discover and connect with the world around us – whatever the weather.

Outdoor play is a fundamental part of our ethos, helping children to build resilience, confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation of nature.

Playing outside in all seasons encourages children to take managed risks, develop physical skills, solve problems and enjoy the simple joys that come from jumping in puddles, feeling the rain on their faces and watching the world change around them.

Yesterday’s weather certainly didn't stop the fun! These moments remind us that there is no such thing as bad weather, only new adventures waiting to be discovered.

🌿 Forest Fridays – What a fantastic start! 🌿

Our very first Forest Fridays after-school club last week was a huge success! The children had an amazing time exploring the outdoors and developing their curiosity about the natural world.

They thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a nature hunt, using their clipboards and tick sheets to search for a variety of items around our forest area. There was lots of excitement as they discovered different treasures hidden in nature!

Bug hunting was another favourite activity. The children carefully searched for mini beasts, observing them closely and sharing fascinating facts and information with one another. It was wonderful to see them working together, helping each other make discoveries, and showing such enthusiasm for learning.

We can't wait for more outdoor adventures, exploration, and fun at Forest Fridays in the weeks ahead! 🍃🐞🔍

⭐️ Staff Spotlight

❤️ Jo has had many years experience working with children and we are lucky to use all of her experiences in setting.

❤️ Tiff has been with us for over 3 years and has recently completed her level 3 CCPLD. We have loved seeing her flourish over the years.

❤️ Awel is currently studying her Play Therapy Masters and is helping improve the Welsh in our setting with her being fluent Welsh speaker.

❤️ Amy has recently joined us and is enjoying building good relationships with the children and staff alike.
