Abacus Day Nursery

Our lovely new uniforms! Every year we ask our lovely staff for feedback and then act on it, something they have requested is new uniform to be more modern, we asked for their opinions and let them have their say in designing the uniform. We now have names on the uniforms to make it easier for all of our lovely parents to know who they are speaking to. If you spot a member of staff in their lovely new uniform don’t forget to say hi! 👋🏼

We came together as a whole nursery yesterday to make mixed fruit ice cream! The children loved pouring, measuring, chopping and mixing! Today we get to taste our yummy creation! 👏🏼 🍦 🍓 🍌

The toddlers adore construction! 🚧 🦺 🛑 here they are taking part in a mixture of textures and messy play during their construction play. Da iawn Toddlers 👏🏼

Fridays are for baking! 🧑‍🍳 we always let the children decide what they would like to bake. This week they picked cookies. 👏🏼 they learned how to measure, pour, mix, weigh, share and most importantly tasting new things and learning life skills!

Play-dough making! We love to make our own play-dough and take part in the process of creating something from scratch! 👏🏼 we take part in pouring, weighing and mixing and sharing with our friends.

Learning to brush our teeth and the importance of doing so 🦷 🪥

Creating our own paints to decorate the garden. We used loose parts, shaving foam and coloured water. Making our own experiments and learning new colours 👏🏼

Abacus spooky bush tucker trial! 🪱 💀 🎃 🕷️

The children took part in a gross bush tucker trial. We had many sounds come from them their favourite being “eewww gross!!” They were describing the items and saying what they thought it was and what it felt like, whether they liked it or didn’t like it.
