Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru . Am ddiwrnod! 13 cystadleuydd ar draws 5 cystadleuaeth celf a dylunio – Patrwm Arwyneb, Ffasiwn, Dylunio Graffig, Ffotograffiaeth a Serameg – a chystadleuaeth band cerddoriaeth. Rydyn ni’n hynod falch o bob un ohonyn nhw ac yn croesi bysedd am y noson wobrwyo ar 16 Mawrth.
Skills Wales competition . What a day we had! 13 competitors across 5 art and design competitions, Surface pattern, Fashion, Graphic design, Photography and Ceramics, and Music performance competition. We are super proud of them all, and keeping everything crossed for the awards night on 16th March.

We had an extremely successful year with our Foundation diploma learners, and an excellent exhibition to finish off.
If you are thinking about applying for Foundation applications are now open.
Foundation is suitable for any learners over 18, who want to develop their art and design skills further, you may be returning to education or unsure of what it is they want to do after your A level results. It's a fantastic course which focuses on developing your specialisms ready for whatever progression route you want to take.
Gower College Swansea
Level 3 year 2 and Foundation students were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to receive Itchy Fingers Textiles Group first bursary award, for up and coming textile students. The bursary was split, £150 each to two students, Penny Myles who had produced some beautiful panels which combined her two loves of textiles and illustration. She is going on to study Illustration at UWTSD, but intends to use her love of textile to bring a unique textural approach to her illustration work. The other bursary was awarded to Hamda Warsame Ali who combined embroidery and screen printing to embellish her clothing and accessories collection. She is going to University of South Wales to study fashion. Hamda came to this country in 2016 from Somalia and has been inspired by her grandmother who printed beautiful artisan fabrics back in Somalia.
This was such a fantastic opportunity for our learners and both were ecstatic to have been chosen.
A huge thank you goes out to for their generosity and inspiration to new textiles artists.
