We’re delighted to be welcoming Lee Fowler to Swansea this September.

Lee will share the journey of developing a Reggio Emilia-inspired nursery, offering practical insights into creating exceptional learning environments, nurturing children’s curiosity and building a culture of excellence in early years practice.

Alongside the professional learning, there will be plenty of opportunity to connect with fellow practitioners from across the region, share ideas and grow your professional network over a hot buffet at the Village Hotel.

As a community organisation, Meithrin exists to support the early years sector. We have contributed towards the cost of this event to help keep ticket prices affordable, allowing more practitioners to access high-quality professional learning, networking opportunities and a hot buffet alongside what promises to be an inspiring evening with Lee Fowler.

We can’t wait to bring our early years community together for what promises to be a fantastic evening.

🌈 Celebrating Excellence in Early Childhood 🌈

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding work of Lee and the team at Buds & Blossoms Day Nursery, recently featured in a Care Inspectorate Wales case study.

The recognition highlights a truly inspiring approach to early childhood education, where children’s wellbeing, relationships, belonging, voice and joy are at the heart of everyday practice.

At Meithrin, we are passionate about promoting high-quality early years practice, sharing expertise, and championing the importance of childhood. This case study beautifully reflects those values in action.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Lee as a member of the Meithrin committee. His commitment to children, families, practitioners and the wider early years sector is evident in all that he does, and this recognition is richly deserved.

Congratulations to Lee and the entire Buds & Blossoms team on this wonderful achievement. Thank you for continuing to inspire others and for being such powerful advocates for children and childhood.

✨ A fantastic example of deep childhood practice and the transformative impact of high-quality early years education.

Join us for a Meithrin session that brings effective observation to life in the early years.

Through real examples from a school with strong practice, we will explore how careful, purposeful observation deepens understanding of children’s learning and informs meaningful next steps in provision.

The session will also offer an opportunity to see how OPAL and playful learning are embedded across the school, reflecting shared priorities and a consistent, child‑centred approach to engaging learning experiences.

You will hear directly from staff about their journey and practice, and will have time to visit classrooms and explore the wider school, ask questions, and see how observation, provision and playful learning connect in everyday practice.

What a privilege to spend time at Clydach Primary School 💛

Thank you to the team for hosting a Meithrin event, opening their doors to over 150 practitioners who came to hear their story, and what a story it is.

A passionate, reflective whole‑school team with learners always at the heart of everything they do. From strong play‑based learning to developing enquiry and independence, this is a school that truly lives its pedagogy, not just talks about it.

They’ve been on a journey and with 1000% effort, they are absolutely flying 🚀

So much to celebrate. So much to be proud of.

🌸 We’re looking to work with settings and schools across Wales, who want to lead, advocate and speak confidently for the early years.

Meithrin events create space for practitioners to share practice, collaborate, reflect and learn from one another - grounded in real classrooms, real environments and real experiences.

By hosting a Meithrin event, you’ll be sharing what really matters in early education and joining us in protecting a space where early years practice is shared generously and openly. Meithrin is a not‑for‑profit network, run by volunteers, with a simple aim: to champion early years practice, strengthen connections between schools and keep professional learning accessible for practitioners.

We take care of the organisation, tickets and guest list. You choose a focus you’re proud of and open your doors for one evening.

Previous host schools have told us that hosting was “an amazing opportunity” and “a huge boost for staff morale”.

📍 Next Meithrin Event – Clydach Primary School

Join us at Clydach Primary for ‘Leading from the Foundations: Embedding Play and Enquiry Based Learning from Nursery to Year 6.’

The team will share a snapshot of their journey and approach to developing foundation learning across the school. Following a short presentation from staff, there will be an opportunity to look around the school, collaborate with colleagues, engage in professional discussion and ask questions.

And of course… there will be time to grab a coffee in the school’s pupil-run coffee shop ☕, a brilliant example of authentic learning in action!

These events bring together passionate practitioners to share practice, learn from each other and keep children at the heart of everything we do.

We can’t wait to see you there! ✨

What an amazing event at St Helens! ✨

Over 80 passionate Meithrin practitioners came together for an inspiring evening of sharing, reflection and professional discussion. The support and engagement in the room always blows us away.

A huge diolch to the incredible team at St Helens for sharing their journey so openly; the challenges, the impact, and the passion that drives their work every day. The team ethos was clear to see: passionate staff, inspirational leadership, and a shared commitment to always putting children at the heart of everything they do. It was powerful to hear how barriers are being turned into positives and opportunities for children.

We’re already looking forward to the next event! 💛
