Food and Fun 2026!
Having worked with many schools providing Food and Fun holiday projects in the past I am thrilled to be working with schools again this summer and have some spaces available.

This year's theme is legends. A topic that Shine Drama workshops already have many options available in. In fact, its our most popular topic! Loved by teachers and children across Wales.

Why book your Food and Fun sessions with us?
We currently have a choice of 13 legends workshops available - each based on a different Welsh story, ancient person or mythical creature and we are adding new ones all the time!
Planned and delivered by a qualified and experienced teacher with a specialism in Drama,
100% practical - filled with vocal and physical warm ups, learning games, props, music, storytelling and drama skills and techniques,
100% of teachers would recommend us to others.
Available for one hour, half day or full days.

Another fantastic session at Craigfelen yesterday! This was Reception exploring "The Three Little Pigs" as part of their "Once upon a time" topic.
The children used their wonderful acting skills and imagination to tell this story twice! First telling the traditional version before retelling it from the point of view of the wolf. It turned out that he didn't mean to destroy anyone's house or scare anyone. He had a cold and sneezed the houses down!
This session was full of laughter and so much fun!

A lovely way to start my week - A fairy tale workshop with nursery pupils at Craigfelen.
We all had so much fun using our bodies, voices, facial expressions, props and imaginations to tell the story of "Little Red Riding Hood".

What a busy but wonderful few weeks I have had in schools.
Starting off with a return visit to the lovely Archdeacon Griffiths primary school. The whole school explored the legend of the red dragon, my most popular workshop.
Then onto the very welcoming Hendy Primary School. Another return visit, this time supporting year 3 and 4 in this half term's project - Same or different. All about Welsh communities around the world. We explored the story of Welsh people moving from Wales and setting up new communities in Patagonia and Canada. I knew very little about this topic before I started planning for the school and have learned so much.
A full day in wonderful Plasmarl primary school - each class doing something different. I lead sessions based on Victorians, Celts, Cantr're Gwaelod, Gelert and the Red Dragon (told you it was popular)
Finishing off our busy few weeks with two very enjoyable days in the lovely Presteigne Primary school exploring the stories behind each of their class names (see post from them with photos).
It was a pleasure to work in every one of these schools.
Now its time for me to swap into Christmas workshop mode!!

We really enjoyed our half term Halloween sessions!
We became witches and wizards, flew on our broomsticks, made magical potions and cast spooky spells.
A massive thank you to all that came to our sessions and for the funding from Swansea council

Before half term I had a fantastic morning working with some pupils in Model CIW School. Their current topic is Carmarthen castle and through a practical expressive arts workshop we explored and experienced the history of this great castle.

We become past occupants of the castle, burnt the castle down in an attack in the 12th century, attended knight academy - learning how to attack and defend the castle - and took part in a 13th century battle at the castle before becoming police officers and criminals when the castle became a prison in 17th and 18th century.

Pupils were a pleasure to work with. They were imaginative, kind, polite and enthusiastic!
