Roedd hi’n braf cael trafod hawliau plant, rôl y Comisiynydd, a’r materion sydd bwysicaf i’r bobl ifanc eu hunain. Roedd clywed eu profiadau yn werthfawr iawn - ac roedd y cacennau cartref yn flasus dros ben! Diolch.

It was nice to be able to discuss children’s rights, the role of the Commissioner, and the issues that are most important to the young people themselves. Hearing their experiences was really valuable - and the homemade cakes were an added bonus! Diolch.

Refugee Week always makes me think about what it means to start again somewhere new.

I know from my own experience what it means to arrive somewhere new and how important it is that children feel safe, welcomed and supported from the start.

This year’s theme is Courage – and it takes real courage to begin again in a new place, especially as a child. It also takes courage from all of us to speak out when we see or hear bullying or discrimination, and to make sure every child feels like they belong.

Here are some of the rights we should all be thinking about this Refugee Week 💛

Article 22 – Children seeking refuge have the right to protection and support.
Article 19 – All children have the right to be safe from violence and harm.
Article 12 – Children have the right to have their views listened to and taken seriously.
Article 2 – Non-discrimination, all children has this right, no matter what their differences are

Mae Wythnos Ffoaduriaid o hyd yn gwneud i mi feddwl am yr hyn y mae’n ei olygu i ddechrau yn rhywle newydd.

Dw i’n gwybod o fy mhrofiad fy hun sut beth yw cyrraedd rhywle newydd a pha mor bwysig yw hi bod plant yn teimlo’n ddiogel, yn cael croeso ac yn cael eu cefnogi o’r cychwyn cyntaf.

Thema eleni yw ‘Dewrder’ – ac mae’n cymryd dewrder go iawn i ddechrau eto mewn lle newydd, yn enwedig fel plentyn. Mae hefyd yn cymryd dewrder gan bob un ohonom i siarad allan pan welwn neu glywn fwlio neu wahaniaethu, ac i wneud yn siŵr bod pob plentyn yn teimlo fel eu bod yn perthyn.

Erthygl 22 – Mae gan blant sy’n ceisio lloches yr hawl i gael eu hamddiffyn a’u cefnogi.

Erthygl 19 – Mae gan bob plentyn yr hawl i fod yn ddiogel rhag trais a niwed.

Erthygl 12 – Mae gan blant yr hawl i gael eu llais wedi’i chlywed a’i chymryd o ddifrif.

Nifer o sgyrsiau ddoe am hawliau plant, ein strategaeth tair blynedd newydd, a sut y gallwn gefnogi ASau i wneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol i blant a phobl ifanc ledled Cymru.

Lots of conversations yesterday about children’s rights, our new three-year strategy, and how we can support MSs to make a real difference for children and young people across Wales.

Social Media Ban U16 - “Ultimately, if this moment is to lead to meaningful change, it must go beyond a debate about banning access. It must drive a more fundamental shift towards a digital environment that is safer, more accountable, and designed with children’s wellbeing at its core, alongside a renewed commitment to the real-world opportunities every child needs to thrive.”
