Did you know today (28th June) is a rare perfect day?
Very few numbers are perfect. which means if you add up their perfect divisors - numbers that are lower than it - you get the same number
there are only 2 under 31, and they are
6.
1 x 6
2 x 3
3+2+1 = 6
and 28.
1 x 28
2 x 14
4 x 7
1 + 2 + 4 + 7 + 14 = 28
Hope you all have a perfect day ๐

That's a new way to memorising sohcahtoa
I'm not a fan of blind learning rules like this. I prefer breaking them down to.explain why.
But in a pinch for last minute revision, these could be handy

Today's Topic: Trigonometry
As most of you are on Intermediate, I'll stick to right angle triangles. If anyone needs non right angle triangles please let.me.know
Also: remember that soh cah toa is not included in the formula sheet, so it needs to be memorised.
So Quick summary: how to find a missing side when you have an angle and one side
1) draw your soh cah toa triangles (see image)
2) label your hypotenuse adjacent and opposite (see image).
3) check which side you have and which do you need and use this to select which sohcahtoa triangle you need
4) cover side you are looking for to find.your calculation.
eg if you have H and need O. On soh cover the O and you will see you need sin(x) times H
5) pop that into a calculator to ger your answer
When your comfortable with that, use it to find the missing angle from 2 sides. But remember to use the inverse sin tan and cos buttons instead (the ones with -1 on it)
If you need a more detailed explanation, have a look at find the missing side:

Lastly, for practice with immediate feedback, here is the usual reliable transum.link...

Nearly there all, just a few more weeks to.go
Interesting way to look at it

Hi all. Today's revision topic is y=mx+c
This is the formula for any straight line graph
Where
m is the gradient of the line
c is the intercept of the y axis
Here is a link to bbc bitesize explanation of the topic: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/z9387p3/revision/3
And a Corbett video link: https://youtu.be/HdlnBX82jxI?si=T4mJDItkMX1vN3nn
For practice, two good choices are
Transum: https://www.transum.org/Maths/Exercise/Graph/
Or Corbett: https://corbettmaths.com/2019/08/29/equation-of-a-line-practice-questions/
If anyone would like to go over this topic during this week's session, please send me a pm and let me know
Good luck with your revision!
