Gower Day Nursery

Last week, the children had great fun making beautiful butterfly crafts. They carefully decorated their butterflies and enjoyed talking about the different colours and designs they chose. As part of our Welsh language learning, the children practised saying the Welsh word for butterfly, “Pili-pala.” 🦋

We are very excited to share with you all that we have been awarded the ‘Addewid Cymraeg Aur - Gold Welsh Promise’. A special thank you to our wonderful staff for the hard work that has gone into achieving this award. Da iawn pawb.🎉

We have been developing the use of the Welsh language within the Nursery and have created an environment where the language is embedded into our Nursery routine. Staff members have also completed a Welsh Language Course to develop their knowledge.🗣️

We’ve had lots of fun exploring animal print painting today!
The children enjoyed using our animal toys to create colourful footprints across the paper. They talked about the different animals they were using and confidently named the colours their prints left behind. It was a wonderful activity that encouraged creativity, language development and lots of smiles! 🎨😄

The money we raised from Pyjamarama Day will change the path of a child who might otherwise grow up in a home without stories. We are helping to ensure that every child, from every background, experiences the enormous benefits of being read to, giving them the best possible start in life.❤️

🍋Citrus Water Play 🍊

Last week we explored a fun tipping and pouring activity using water, lemon slices, and orange slices! Our Schoolie and Tweenie children enjoyed scooping, pouring, and transferring water between containers while discovering the bright colours, textures, and fresh citrus scents.☺️

Pyjamarama Day at Nursery! 🌙📚🧸

Today the children enjoyed taking part in Pyjamarama, coming to nursery in their cosy pyjamas and celebrating the joy of stories and reading. We spent the day sharing our favourite books and listening to exciting stories.📚☺️

This week the children enjoyed a bilingual story time centred around The Gruffalo and took part in lots of exciting Gruffalo themed activities. We loved reading our Gruffalo storybooks in both Welsh and English. 📚The children had great fun at our Gruffalo tea party, playing with owl ice cream and exploring the messy and sensory experience of Gruffalo crumble. It has been a week full of fun and learning!🍦🦉☕️

The children thoroughly enjoyed making Teddy Bear Toast today. Using their imagination and a variety of ingredients they created their own unique teddy bear faces. It was a wonderful activity that encouraged creativity while making a tasty snack for the children to enjoy. 🧸💕

This morning the Schoolies spent some time exploring our local area. They enjoyed seeing different coloured cars, birds flying in the sky and playing in our local play park!☀️

We love being located in such a beautiful area and getting the chance to enjoy walks in the sunshine.😊
