Pupils at Morriston Comprehensive School are celebrating a wide range of successes following the publication of their GCSE and vocational qualification results. The school is particularly proud of the outstanding achievements across a number of subjects, with Photography achieving a remarkable 100% A*-C pass rate, while Biology recorded 92.6% A*-C, Physics 90.6% A*-C, and Art and Design 89.5% A*-C. Exceptional top-grade performance was also seen across the curriculum. Nearly half of all Art and Design pupils achieved A*-A grades*, while Photography achieved 42.3% A*-A and Geography 42.1% A*-A. Additionally, A*-A grades were high in Physical Education, Spanish, Chemistry, Physics and History. A number of subjects achieved 100% GCSE pass rates, including Art, Photography, Biology, Geography, Physical Education, Spanish, Product Design, Digital Technology, Fashion & Textiles, Health and Social Care & Childcare, and Computer Science.

The school also celebrated impressive outcomes in its vocational qualifications. In particular, in Creative Media Production, almost a third of pupils achieved Distinction grades. Across the wider vocational programme, strong outcomes were achieved in Creative Media, Enterprise Skills, Public Services and Performing Arts, demonstrating Morriston's commitment to offering pupils a broad and successful curriculum.

These results reflect the hard work of our young people, the dedication of our staff and the support of parents and carers. It is particularly pleasing to see outstanding performances in our creative, scientific and vocational subjects, highlighting the breadth of opportunities available at Morriston Comprehensive School.

Morriston Comprehensive School is celebrating another year of strong examination performance at post-16 level, with students achieving excellent results across a wide range of qualifications.

This year, 24% of all grades awarded were A*-A or equivalent, demonstrating the high levels of attainment achieved by many learners across the school. In addition, 48% of all results achieved were at A*-B or equivalent.

The results also highlight the breadth of success across the year group. 51% of pupils achieved at least three A*-C grades or equivalent qualifications, reflecting the determination and hard work shown by students throughout their studies. Furthermore, 91% of pupils achieved at least two A*-E grades or equivalent, ensuring that the vast majority of learners secured qualifications that will support their progression to further education, training and employment.

Staff have praised students for their commitment, resilience and determination throughout their courses. The results demonstrate not only high achievement among the school's top performers but also the success of many learners across the ability range in reaching their individual goals.

There is a selection of photos from the family lunch last week whereby many pupils in years 7-10 won awards presented by their Head of Year and Dr Williams. Awards were earned for pupils' excellent attendance, resilience, above and beyond behaviour throughout the academic year as well as demonstrating the Morriston Values every day.

On 9th -10th July, our Year 10 Agored Level 2 Certificate in Learning in the Outdoors pupils successfully completed their summer expedition in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The 2-day expedition involved walking on the Black Mountain, camping and cooking an evening meal. Our pupils did extremely well in challenging conditions.
