For some children and young people, finding their voice, building confidence and feeling comfortable around others can be a huge journey. That’s why creating safe, welcoming spaces where they can be themselves, make friends and try new things matters so much.

💚🎗️ Last night at the Senedd — standing for Sharelle 🎗️💚

Last night, Family Support Wales had the privilege of attending the Senedd alongside charities, organisations and families, supporting one of the families we have been honoured to stand beside for nearly 7 years throughout their childhood cancer journey.We were incredibly proud to see Sharelle’s family invited to be part of this important event and to hear Sharelle’s story shared.

Sadly, Sharelle didn’t win her fight against childhood cancer, and she gained her angel wings. 🤍🕊️ But her journey, her voice and her family’s determination continue to make a difference.

Today, we stand for you, Sharelle. 🎗️✨🤍
We stand for every child currently battling cancer.�We stand for every survivor.�We stand for every family living through the unimaginable.�And we stand for every child who gained their angel wings. 🤍

Together, we have to keep pushing for change and for better support, care and outcomes for children and families affected by childhood cancer across Wales.

This is especially important as work begins on a new National Cancer Strategy for Wales, which will shape cancer care and support over the next ten years.

There is an opportunity for children and young people with lived experience of cancer, along with their families and carers, to have their voices heard and help shape what cancer care should look like in Wales.

A big thank you to M4 Lifting Services Ltd for helping us get our minibus back in shape! 💙

The team repaired our tail lift, fixed the doors on our minibus, and completed the necessary LOLER inspection, helping to make sure our vehicle is safe and ready to support the children, young people and families we work with.

🚐✨ POPs ON TOUR! 🎉

We’ve got a BIG idea… and we need your help to make it happen! 💙

Our POPs (Positive Outcomes Play) group is an inclusive youth group for children and young people aged 5–17, where they can play, make friends, learn, get creative and have loads of fun.

But we know that not every family can easily get to our Baglan centre. So… we thought:

Why wait for them to come to POPs when we can take POPs to them?! 🚐💨

Introducing ✨ POP-UP POPs! ✨

We want to get a minivan and take our toys, sensory activities, crafts, games and educational resources out into local communities: bringing the fun to children who might otherwise miss out. 🎲🎨🧸🌈

Whether it’s a rural community, a local hall or somewhere that doesn’t have an inclusive youth group nearby, we want to turn up with a van full of FUN! 💙

🎯 Our fundraising target is £17,000*to help us purchase and kit out a suitable minivan.
