KidStop - A Toddler Group for Preschoolers with Additional Needs

KidStop is a Swansea-based toddler group, run especially for preschool children with a confirmed or emerging diagnosis of additional needs.

We aim to provide a safe, appropriately stimulating environment for you and your child to connect, chill 'n play! KidStop is a small, caring group with excellent, high-quality volunteers. We understand many of the challenges and joys of parenting a child with additional needs through having our own children or family members with additional needs or through having worked in health and child development settings. Established in 2018, we have been meeting every Thursday during term time for the past 4 years, including during Covid whenever regulations permitted! Our aim is to create a safe, relaxing, and appropriately stimulating environment that allows you to relax and enjoy a hot drink and company, whilst your child explores, plays, and develops friendships. What can you expect?

- a safe, appropriately stimulating environment;
- a range of developmentally appropriate toys for your children;
- sensory play;
- tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks;
- a large space for your child to play and explore;
- sing and sign along with Mr Tumble;
- quiet space if needed;
- special events on a termly basis;
- free (on-street) parking - move the cones - they have been put there for you;
- understanding and support as your child transitions to school. So, come along whenever you are able, be it weekly or once every few weeks, and invest in some self-care time! You'll be really welcome 😃

CLOSING of KIDSTOP

We're sorry to inform you that KidStop will be permanently closing as of this term (Sept 2022). This is because of changing needs within the local population, requiring us to focus our resources on other ways of supporting families who have a child/young person with additional needs.

Lifepoint Church, Swansea will continue partnering with ELI Project Wales to provide social events for you and your families. We will also continue to provide specialist support within our regular Sunday worship services (10:15am) to families who have a child with additional needs.

We truly appreciate the loyalty and dedication of our amazing volunteers. And I know I speak for every one of them in saying we feel deeply honored to have been entrusted with serving you and your children at such a precious and sometimes distressing time.

Our priory now is to maximize our support of the families who have a loved one with additional needs through the cost of living crisis and beyond.

Thank you for your years of love and support for this special toddler group. Your children are a gift and a delight.

A number of our current group members are making the very exciting transition to school! We wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing how they are getting on. It's been a joy getting to know them and their families 😊

This young man has just been to his final KidStop 😢

And whilst after 4 years, we are all truly sad to see him go, we realize we can't keep Oreo to ourselves!
