This weekend the UWTSD Motorsport rally team heads out to do the Tour of Epynt, set on the Military firing ranges above Sennybridge. With scrutineering, recce and 4 stages tomorrow and 4 long stages Sunday, the weekend is looking petty busy for the team!

Kerry Tudor and Abigail Penny attended a FIA Girls On Track UK Community networking event hosted at the Wera Tools stand. They got to hear from lovely ladies in the Wera Mini Challenge team. The girls were the super motivated and delivered inspiring talks about their racing careers to the Girls in Track Community.

Yesterday we held our Summer residential for some ambitious and aspiring engineers, from across schools in South Wales. While with us, these learners took part in a Design, Build, Race Challenge where, they had to design a trailer to carry a payload around a course, driven by a robotic power unit. We had fun watching their creativity and hope they enjoyed the challenge too!

Its race weekend!
This weekend sees UWTSD Motorsport'S Team MCR take a long drive up to Oulton Park for the Endurance round of the Sports 2000 Championship.
The teams will be welcoming some guest drivers along to share the 50 minute race. Martin Gibson from the UWTSD Rally team will be joining Tim in car 40, Ash Law (previous Sports 2000 competitor) will be joining John Iley in car 44, and Andrew Noble will be muscling the full race by himself.
We wish the teams the very best of luck for a great weekends racing!

The School of Engineering had a busy afternoon last Friday, as we hosted our annual Final Project Exhibition where our final year students get to display their dissertation poster to their peers and industry visitors. We also got to hand out the IMechE Project award to Nathan for his work on Carbon Fibre tube analysis. Such a lovely afternoon celebrating out student's work!
