GCSE RESULTS DAY

Huge congratulations to Year 11 students who are celebrating their GCSE results today. Their work ethic, determination and support for each other in the period leading up to the exams was truly impressive and they have attained some fantastic results across the board. We are delighted to see so many individual success stories that reflect this dedication and focus. Our recognition also goes to the staff team who have taught, challenged and supported students throughout their GCSE studies with positivity, commitment and a relentless focus on guiding them to achieve their best.

At all levels, students performed well. Performance in English and Maths was strong, with noteworthy outcomes for higher prior attainers at grade 7 and above and for pupil premium students. There was particularly strong performance in all sciences, religious studies, drama and creative media production.

There were some exceptional results at the top end which deserve a special mention. In terms of grades, our top three performing students this year were Fiona Biju with seven Grade 9s, one Grade 7, one Grade 6 and a BTec L2 Distinction, Iris Fletcher with three Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, a Grade 7 and a BTec L2 Distinction, and Grace Anderson-Doig with four Grade 9s, one Grade 8, four Grade 7 and one Grade 6.

Congratulations also to our three Year 10 students who took a GCSE a year early, all of whom received a Grade 9.

Once again we are on track for every single student having a plan for their next steps - whether education, employment or training – a 100% trend that is well above national average and of which we are very proud.

Students will be moving on to study A-levels, BTECs or taking up apprenticeships. Most are heading to The Purbeck School Sixth Form, Lytchett Minster School Sixth Form or Bournemouth & Poole College. Other destinations include Parkstone and Poole Grammar Schools, The Leaf Academy, Brockenhurst College and Coastland College (Weymouth College and Kingston Maurward).

Congratulations and wishing each and every one of you success and happiness in the future.
