🎨Messy, Creative Fun! 🎨
Today, our pre-school artists have spent time exploring paint, where they painted their own hands and bodies, offering them valuable sensory experiences as they explored how the paint felt on their skin.
This activity supported the children through several different developmental areas from the EYFS.
🎨Expressive Art & Design:
The children explored colour and materials in different ways as they created marks whilst expressing their own ideas and imagination.
🚶Physical Development:
As they stretched, reached and moved their bodies across the large piece of cardboard, creating marks, as well as using their paintbrushes, supporting their coordination and fine and gross motor skills.
🌍 Understanding the world:
The children explored how different materials feel and behave, exploring cause and effect as they explored with the paint.
💭Communication and Language:
Discussing their ideas and engaging in conversations with one another, as they described what they were creating supported their development.
💜Personal, Social and Emotional:
The children made independent choices, inputting their own ideas into their play, developing confidence, whilst sharing a lovely (yet, messy) experience with their peers.
