There is plenty happening behind the scenes at Aston Academy this summer.

While our students enjoy the final couple of weeks of the holidays, our team is working hard to make sure the Academy is ready to welcome everyone back in September.

Creating a strong sense of belonging starts from the moment you arrive, so we have been making some exciting changes around school, including a brand new entrance.

Our Principal shares a quick update and a little preview in this video, although a few surprises are staying under wraps until September.

We cannot wait to welcome our students, staff and families back very soon.

Congratulations Y11- the best GCSE results since Covid!

It has been a wonderful morning celebrating the achievements of Y11 as they collected their GCSE results at Aston Academy! Our students have proudly delivered an incredible set of results that is testament to their hard work and dedication, and are the academy’s best GCSE results since COVID. A huge thank you to our families, school community, and school staff who have helped them achieve such great things! We cannot wait to follow their journeys as they move on to their next steps- we wish them the best of luck.

Today the Computing, Business & Enterprise department congratulates Charlie in Year 9 who has won our first ever Computing Excellence Award in KS3 for creating a superb version of our Computing department website in his own time. 🌟

The final Year 10 Team 27 award was a private screening of Toy Story 5! 🎬🍿

On Tuesday a group of Y10 linguists went to the Etihad stadium to a languages event, More Than Words 2026. Students listened to talks from people who have used languages in many different industries such as the police, football, journalism, and content creators.

They also got a chance to speak to different employers about how languages can open so many opportunities. They also enjoyed the never-seen-before and never-to-be-seen-again sight of Mrs Shirtliff and Mr Rubbo doing some Bollywood dancing!

The students were fantastic throughout the day and were a credit to the school. Well done to Sophie, Lena, Amelia, Macey, Millie, Finley, Thomas, Gabe, Danny, Archie, Hollie and Lillian!
