Swaffham Pre-school job opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, caring, enthusiastic and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. The right candidate will have a proven track record of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD and associated difficulties.
Job Purpose:
The right candidate will work 1:1 supporting a child in Pre-school who has not yet had a formal diagnosis but is showing signs of social communication difficulties.
The right person;
Will have experience working with Children with social communication difficulties and associated difficulties.
Be able to improve the communication and interaction of the supported pupil
Has a proven track record of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and of delivering a personalised curriculum either in SEN settings or mainstream schools.
Has specialist knowledge of how to support a young person with social communication difficulties.
Will support the sensory needs of the pupil
Will be able to challenge the cognition and learning of the pupil
Be able to work on Pupil Progress targets/Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Is used to working closely with Key person and the SENCO and external professionals
Is flexible, pro-active and hands-on
Has vision, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge and has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Is experienced in establishing and maintaining good professional relationships.

Further responsibilities:
To attend and participate in performance appraisal and staff meetings and any other meetings as required.
To follow the policies, procedures and guidelines of Swaffham Pre-School.
Any other duties which may be required from time to time.
To work within and encourage the Pre- school's equal Opportunity Policy and contribute to diversity policies and programmes in relation to discriminatory behaviour.
To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Pre-school's Health and Safety guidance and legislation.
Monitor any problems and difficulties reporting these to the manager.

Alterations to duties and responsibilities and performance of similar tasks within the scope of and at the same level will be expected.
